Stadiums Queensland shuts grandstand for Titans-Penrith clash as stadium standoff intensifies

STADIUMS Queensland has reduced the Gold Coast Titans home game capacity by almost 6000 by shutting a grandstand for the clash with Penrith tomorrow.

The club has had to contact members and fans with tickets in the southern stand of Cbus Super Stadium to tell them their seats were no longer available.

The closure comes as the NRL club fights with the Government over stadium fees of up to $165,000 a game.

Titans chief executive Graham Annesley said the empty stand would be visible on television broadcasts, although most shots showed

the unwanted Gold Coke Titans had a custom built stadium for them by the taxpayer to the tune of 160 odd million & then complain it costs them money to play at the stadium


where are all of those millions of fans who love their NRL and League in Queensland
the Lions have been a basket case for the last decade and still average 20k to their games

League heartland in the past AFL heart land in the future

but it isnt.
the MCG is 100k capacity
the Cold coke titans stadium is only around 25,30k capacity
because its to expensive to operate & their fudged 6k crowds look to spread out

its a thread dribbler because QLd ie meant to be an NRL state, but the game is dying up here

Thats plenty for most of their games.. in fact **** all SE QLD sports clubs only the Broncos.. maybe the reds.. could claim that would not be enough for almost all their games

difference is dribbler, isn't QLD meant to be NRL heart land. the unwanted gold coke titans are closing stands in their personally designed NRL stadium. because of their such LOW fan base.
a very fudged 10k turned up the the game on the weekend!

at this rate the titans will be struggling to fill a suburban field
