FFA Considering taking over Kogarah Oval

Post by Beaussie »

Poor Saints, cant even afford to pay for the use of their home ground. FFA to the rescue. :(/ :(/ :(/
Football Federation Australia boss David Gallop considering Dragons' Kogarah Oval as new home base
Date March 22, 2015
Michael Chammas

It has been rugby league heartland for 65 years, but St George Illawarra's iconic Kogarah home ground could be on the verge of being transformed into a Football Federation Australia base.

FFA boss David Gallop has held preliminary discussions with Kogarah Council and Dragons boss Peter Doust about the prospect of using Jubilee Oval as a training and office facility.

Fairfax Media can reveal the St George District Rugby League owes Kogarah Council $130,000 for the use of the facility, while the NRL club is also struggling to keep up with the costs associated with playing fixtures at the venue.

While the Dragons have had a stranglehold on the ground for more than half a century, Doust approached Gallop about the FFA becoming the primary users of the facility because of the financial burden on the club.

The fact Doust is aiding rival codes to use the spiritual home of the Dragons is sure to anger some of the already disgruntled fans, however the club maintains it cannot afford to play all 12 of its home games in an even share between WIN Stadium and Jubilee.

LOL

Let them have it, the Saints should be playing more down here in the Gong anyway and they should be playing the rest of their games at the SFS.

Oh and how the fuck is the FFA going to come to Kogarah Ovals rescue, they don't have 2 bob to rub together let alone pay for any damn stadium. I see the lol league GF replay had 6k in attendance the other night, LOL.

Seems to be becoming a bit of a habit for you lot with the NRL looking to the FFA for help. First Parramatta Stadium (only reason for redevelopment being the Wanderers) and now Kogarah Oval and St George in need of some FFA assistance.

RL heartland :(/ :(/ :(/

What, a habit that I would like to see more games in my home town from the club that is meant to represent the area, ok.

Ummm, Parramatta has been on the agenda for a new stadium long before the Biggest club in the world came along, you just lie like that moron cos789, no wonder you both follow the fraudulent swans eh?

Hmm, I was under the impression they were a proud foundation club representing St George. That's where their leagues club isn't it?

We all know the Wanderers are the only reason Parramatta Stadium is getting an upgrade. As you allude to, before them coming onto the scene it was just all talk that was never really taken seriously. How else do you explain the upgrade only happening after the Wanderers started playing there?

try an spin it but it is embarrassing for St George, I don't think this is the best move for the FFA, it could become a bit of a Concord Oval for them. It they make it a center of excellence, but FNSW have Valentine Park and the AIS also have facilities so not sure it is needed.

My biggest issue is, it could be the first peg in the ground for Cahill FC (a southern Sydney HAL team) which if based in the area would be bad news for Sydney FC.

If a Sydney/NSW team is next then Wollongong or SW Sydney(cambelltown) would be a better move

I say yeah, go for it, will finish the code off once and for all and we can all get back to fighting the proper footy fight instead of little bro always yelling, look at me look at me, why won't you look at me, I am sokka, I demand you look at me.

it's ok, they can upkeep the dragons old ground for a year or two untill they are broke again, the dragons under 20's will have a nice little ground to play at once the sokkarenas leave with their tails between their legs again just like the gold coast, north qld, auckland and soon to be central coast and newcastle oh and how can we forget the biggest club in the world with their falling 10k crowds out in the west of sydney in the wonderderpers?

Wanderers going down gurgler? Lol evidence? Why the fuck do I bother, you guys make shit up and just drive right on by.

Wanderers are making a profit, just got approval and are starting construction on a training centre in Blacktown, the first stage of a $15million project that will include the training centre and youth academy.

But like I said, you guys make shit up, so how about it, shows us evidence that the Wanderers are going down the gurgler. Evidence or fuck off
