Ratings for NRL’s Sunday night games hits a new low for Raiders v Warriors

THERE are 133,000 reasons why Sunday night NRL games should be dumped.

That’s how many people tuned into Fox Sports to watch the Raiders and Warriors slug it out in the nation’s capital in the unfriendly 6.30pm timeslot.

While viewers switched off, only 8241 fans decided to make their way to GIO Stadium to watch the match.

The NRL scheduled three Sunday evening matches for the opening three rounds, with this weekend’s clash to feature the Gold Coast Titans and Newcastle.

There is a real possibility the crowd and TV ratings cold sink even lower.

& 8241 in Canberra on a Sunday night is an...... only >

is it because Dill Slothfields team was the Sydney team on the Friday ?

no doubt the 6.30pm kickoff time is not good
no families there at Canberra stadium on Sunday with school the following day
but its March
and playing that game at 2pm in potential 35c heat isn't ideal either
so unfavourable time slots are there for player safety reasons

how the fuck is anything like 8k an acceptable crowd for a professional sport during the regular season, let alone two? (and we wont mention the 6k for Penrith) The AFL had bigger fucking crowds for fucking practice matches in the fucking country on the weekend. f it was GWS you'd hang shit on it - so you're just going to have live with this until people actially go to your fucking miserable excuse for a live game experience.
