Hall of Fame Tribute Match Thoughts
What did you think? Should the AFL have this game again? For me, I'd prefer to see a return of real state of origin. I know, I know, highly unlikely.

i dont reakon they should i just dosnt have the same appeal as it use to back in the day, the players and coaches are to wound up in the home and away season! i would like to see the return of the state of origin aswell but like you said beaussie highly unlikely. That said i did enjoy watching the game lastnight it was good to see all those elite footballers playing together i think a couple of players were very unlucky to win that medal such as Goodes and Scarlett. GO VICS!

The little v are crap, they are too gutless to play South Australia. I heard Gary Lyon wanted to have the Aboriginal All-Stars play against the little v! What the fuck for? The All-Stars should play against SA, WA and the little v. Anyhow who would Adam Goodes play for? After all he seems to enjoy representing the little v there!

The problem is that if you go with Vic v SA - WA will feel slighted and complain. And they would have a point. Then of course what happens with the other states? Allies again? No thank you!
On the other hand - the Dream Team isn't exactly the flavour of the month when it comes to the other states. Especially taking into account that they wouldn't get the rabid support that normally accompanies SA (particularly in Adelaide).
It may have been a different story if the Dream Team won the game.

Please NOT the Allies again.TLPG wrote:The problem is that if you go with Vic v SA - WA will feel slighted and complain. And they would have a point. Then of course what happens with the other states? Allies again? No thank you!

Must admit whilst I watched the game and was going for the Dream Team, the passion was lacking. I'd love to see State of Origin return but as we know that's highly unlikely.TLPG wrote:On the other hand - the Dream Team isn't exactly the flavour of the month when it comes to the other states. How about VIC v SA, WA v TAS, NSW/ACT v QLD with VIC v SA and WA rotating each year.

WA v Tassie would be a mismatch - which is why that wouldn't work. Victoria v WA in Melbourne would flop. And what about the Northern Territory?Beaussie wrote:Must admit whilst I watched the game and was going for the Dream Team, the passion was lacking. The trouble is that WA will insist on being treated as an equal - creating a nightmare for the AFL to fit three into two. The only way it could work is if they had three matches instead of just one. Who would vote for that **** the AFL clubs? Even over three years - what would be the point?
On the other hand - with the proper marketing - Victoria v SA can be the equal of NSW/QLD Rugby League.
