is that true? I assumed the 4 Nations was a sell out, the fact they only got 20 odd thousand was that the stadium only held that.

Are you saying the 4 nations didn't sell out, that is just embarrassing, the biggest international rugby league tournament between the number 1 and 2 sides couldn't sell out the stadium.

Lyingdave as always too dumb to understand. You would see I have said football isn't hugely popular in NZ.

The fact that you guys claim league is and yet got such a poor crowd to an international match between the the worlds top two sides is terrible.

Your talking out of your arse man. The stadium was not half full, was 70% capacity at least during the match. Don't forget Rugby League is not the NZ national game is it. Is a long way behind Union still, but gaining momentum slowly.
4 Nations had record crowds for the competion last year.

Now lets talk about AFLs push into NZ, your AFL match in 2014 there had ticket sales down on previous years.
So much so that AFL players hit the streets of Auckland before the match handing out flyers to promote the game.

AFL has a long way to go to try to get Kiwis intererested in Aussie Rules. They are not even close to what Rugby League has there. :(/

Had a guy come into my office today asking me "dragons or South's" and I said" neither, don't watch NRL anymore "and he had a funny look on his face

What you doing instead?

Watching a-league

And he frowned "fuark I can't stand it, its all my kids talk about"

Yeah, expected 8) - the common trend of NRL fans being in their 50s continue while the younger generation is only interested in aesthetically pleasing, smart, skillful and enjoyable sports such as soccer and AFL
