Of course the AFL is not bigger than Rugby League in NZ. I was never saying that I was just shocked that the 4 Nation Final against Australia where NZ had a big chance of winning (which they did) only got a half full stadium! THAT is embarrassing.

The AFL is just starting there, no one even knows what it is, yet everyone knows Rugby League but they get a half full stadium to the biggest game in years. I found that very strange & sad for the great exciting game of Rugby League

is that true? I assumed the 4 Nations was a sell out, the fact they only got 20 odd thousand was that the stadium only held that.

Are you saying the 4 nations didn't sell out, that is just embarrassing, the biggest international rugby league tournament between the number 1 and 2 sides couldn't sell out the stadium.

The reason why the crowd was so small at the 4 nations final (which would have sold out years ago) is now the Kiwis have a taste for AFL so Rugby League does not mean anything to them anymore. Well done New Zealand u have seen the light like 90% of Australia has except for Western Sydney of course b...

The crowd was 25,500 in a 34k seat stadium..

Also the game did not start in N.Z until 8:45pm which may have been a factor.
But the game it self rated its socks off..
