If Ticketmaster is doing the counting that's bad, because they would count those who bought tickets but ended up not going. That definitely affected the GWS/Swans game because they lost some of the crowd due to the nasty storm they had.

One of you is definitely wrong, and Raider is definitely in need of a fucking tin foil hat.

The truth is several of us, myself and at least one guy on LU - have tried to find out who does the counting at Spotless, and it seems to be Ticketmaster. AFL clubs dont typically do the counting unless they ARE the management, as they are at Metricon and Kardinia Park - GWS is not the ground manager at the Showgrounds. The RAS has told people on League Unlimited that they dont do the counting, and that its done by Ticketmaster.

I believe its likely that Ticketmaster is counting tickets sold/distributed not necessarily attendees. However its also worth noting that for AFL matches at least, most of the crowd sits on the same side of the stadium as the TV cameras.
