Being a football fan myself I think the Asian cup is a bit of a joke.
For a start Australia is part of Oceania not Asia lol.

Secondly not one country in the Asian cup ranks in the fifa top 50.
So the comp is not at a high standard, guess at least the Socceroos might actually win a game.

They should make a commonwealth football cup. At least Australia would have some higher ranked countries to play like England, Scotland and Wales.

We haven't been part of Oceania for a 7 years now, we are firmly part of Asia, best move we have ever done.

I wouldn't look too closely at the FIFA rankings, not a real indicator of performance if you ask me.

Have you ever watched Japan play? They are quality.

Beside those 3 who else would we play? NZ? Canada? India?

We we have played Canada, South Africa and Scotland fairly recently, NZ, been a long time since we played England ( areal game of two halves) don't remember us playing Wales.

Facts are facts mate we speak English not an Asian language last time I checked. So how can we be part of Asia??

As for Japanese football, their local comp would struggle against UK premier league 2nd division teams.
Asian football is nothing on Europe or South America. An Asian team has not one the world cup once and fluking it if they make the semis most times.

The USA have more of a chance of winning the world cup than any of those Asian cup teams Australia will play.
