Would anyone in AFL actually score points if they had no extra goals on the side and a crossbar like field goals?

Never watched gaelic football but if the kickers had a crossbar and no side posts they would actually have a challenge to score instead of it being so easy for them.

Gaelic Football Rectangle field (like Football, League, Union) but longer and a little wider (I think 150 m long but don't quote me) each end Rugby Posts but with a football net in the bottom with a goalkeeper.

1 point over the cross bar, 3 points for a goal (same as hurling) the ball is round like a football.

Both Hurling (which is played with a stick and ball about the size of a tennis ball and Gaelic Football are ancient games, dating back to Irish mythology

Hurling much older it predates Christianity in Ireland, it has been played for over 2000 years

typical scores might be 2-12 to 1-9 (which would be 18-12) so the scores are significantly lower than AFL matches

Except for Etihad where the AFL has year round priority.

And according to the AFL website it seems like a version is being planned anyway. I wont be surprised if its on rectangular pitches ala metro/eurofooty

There wouldn't be enough of them to make that work, and most of them would be taken by the A-League anyway.

Etihad still has to make money. They open up over the summer for other things like concerts and so on. Of course, when the AFL take over ownership that'll change.

now days many of the cricketers, wouldn't even bother with cricket, as preseason training for the AFL started a week or so ago, the players would be to busy. many of the ex footballers play cricket
