Sooooo, Brisbane have plenty of places they could play for a few weeks, same as Townsville and the Gold Coast, in Sydney, every club would have a home ground to play at or share if close to a neighbour for a few rounds. Illawarra and Newcastle have grounds that they could have used, yes not as up to standard to what they play at now, but plenty of grounds to play at. Maybe the NRL could of had more split rounds, they've done it before.

Is not a lie, your former ceo offered 200 million for Olympic Stadium (aka ANZ) so no other code could use the venue and NRL would not have had a large stadium to play at. It would have helped promote GWS into Western Sydney and saved on having to build an AFL stadium.

Actually you have an article that says the AFL were going to try and buy Homebush as part of its Stadium Ownership stategy - despite no cmment or confirmation from the AFL, and it mostly appears to be based around a tour that Demetriou took of the stadium.. What you dont have is an article which says that the AFL were going to lock out other codes and prevent them from using the ground, just David Gallop saying it would be a concern.

The trust is ANZ not AFL. They are two totally different entities.

whether it did make the offer or didn't, its makes sense, as its a business & another form of revenue for the AFL.
ANZ is the premier stadium in NSW that holds the large sporting events in Sydney. the AFL would only profit from it.

to suggest it would lock the NRL out is is only showing how insecure you are about your little game is!
the NRL play a couple of games at the venue every weekend & will only grow as the government has stated it will stop funding the suburban grounds, & would only allow the AFL to profit more from it, instead of the the current Stadium Australia Group.

What about N Qld, well they have played in a few places in the north, i'm sure cairns or any of the other places would fall over themselves to be handed 2-3-4 games in a row at home to host aye?
