Why isn't Rugby League the number 1 sport in any country?
After all it has had over 100 years to establish itself, why isn't it number 1 in any country outside a few pacific islands?
The main Rugby League playing countries historically were
Australia - nope AFL number 1
England - nope Football number 1
New Zealand - nope Rugby number 1
France - nope Football number 1
The only places left are the minnows, PNG, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa
Why isn't Rugby League the biggest game anywhere? clearly it must damage the psyche,

actually to add to that is Rugby League the number 1 sport on any measurement in Australia, well besides number of players with AVO's or criminal convictions?

what's funny League is the more dominate code in the 1st and 3rd most populated states!. it should be making the most money and be the most popular game in Australia
yet it is no existent out side of those states

Re: Why isn't Rugby League the number 1 sport in any country?
the storm are the most irrelevant football team in Victoria. next to Melbourne City but they at least have the exception of being crap in the few years of their existence. its not like they have won premierships & been world champions & play in a state where no know's who they are. ffs how many local Victorian breed players have they playing for them?ParraEelsNRL wrote:No, no it's not, see, I can lie just like you.
out side of NSW & QLD no other state in Australia produces League players with the exception of the odd one of two
get out of your little numphy bubble!

Re: Why isn't Rugby League the number 1 sport in any country?
It is a title, like a headline, I anticipate most people can read the actual post, clearly reading more than 5 words is a little too much for you. Do you need a lie down? Jesus you are thick.
Clearly you don't have the ability to understand anything more than "four legs good, two legs bad" it appears "stop the boats" were written precisely for the level of your ignorance. I imagine when you drive you get to a stop sign and you just sit there not moving, I assume you are waiting to the sign says go.

Re: Why isn't Rugby League the number 1 sport in any country?
The reason why RL was not #1 in any country where it has been played for at least 70 years bar Australia has been gone over time and time again and some supporters of certain codes will hopefully one day pay for the way they treated people during war time and after, these are known facts. The Government never done a damn thing so I hope their creator remembers their dastardly deeds.
RL in Northern England payed its players from the get go, they had to pay taxes to the tax man all while fighting the establishment in England (RFU) against all its bigoted class warfare. While RL payed it's players and coaches during those early days with the gate receipts they got and put money and resources into their stadium and set up , the RFU put all their gate taking straight in the bank as they didn't pay players (openly) or tax because they were classed as an (amateur) sport thus gate takings and whatever other money flowing into the game built up for 100 years world wide until it was finally forced to go pro during the super league war.
RL paid it's way with legit means even buying players from the enemy while the other better lot than us plebs got a free ride for 100+ years being taken world wide by the armed forces, universities and whatnot whilst RL was banned in all those institutions until the last decade and a half with some places still banning the game now.
I couldn't care less what you arseholes think, RL has fought for what it has against the self righteous snobs that run everything and have tried to kill it for 100 years, I'm proud this code stood up while all the others fell in line.
Yep, you can follow the man when he says jump off that cliff, I'll stand back and say, you first.
