I think one of the sooker wimps provided a half decent answer to the thread question on the last page but he didn't provide any evidence other than his own opinion that its because the players are young and that the socceroos will soon jump up to about 40th where they belong. I'll believe that when I see it.

For now tho they've plummeted, and badly. Its sure to have bad effects on the game at grassroots. But what do others think the reasons as to why are? Have youth becoming less interested in the game over the past decade and we are now seeing the translation of this on the pitch? Shithouse coach?
