Well its been discussed over and over in here and its time we here at TF take a stand to improve the AFL. We're almost all united against homophobia well all except cos, QLDisafl and a few other AFL supporters but by god we've definitely got the majority of members who are against homophobia.
So I gather you all here today to support my initiative to write to the AFL and unite against the AFL's lack of addressing the rife homophobia within AFL circles across the country, well mainly the southern part of the country. What we have here members is a culture so ingrained that the AFL is arguably the most homophobic sporting institution in the world. It's def the worst in aus

So please, review my letter and provide any supporting comments/minor edits you think would help and then in a week i'll send it off to the AFL. Thanks heaps guys, your supporting my leadership on this matter is really appreciated

Dear (insert whatsies name AFL CEO here)
We the members of Talking Footy are appalled by the constant, destructive, disgraceful homophobic comments and acts that occur year after year after year after year. We're fed up! Sick and tired! ...Disgusted!!! From Ackermanis, to Eddie McGuire, to Sam Newman, to the Collingwood clubs notice board, to the players, to the AFL staff this filthy homophobic culture is both clearly apparent and commonly laughed about within AFL circles. We are not living in 1950s Australia and you and your organisation clearly need to realise this.
We are shocked by the AFLs inaction on homophobic comments and actions of its staff and players. Why is there no action, time and time and time again?
The AFL is a very sick organisation and we want to help you and your organisation in developing a healthy outlook towards all members of the community (note we at talking footy also frown upon the AFLs 1950'sesque lack of action on racism towards the Australian of the year and the many other acts over the years but that's another letter). In helping the AFL we provide you with the following recommendations which we suggest you consider and take on.
Recommendations:
1. That the AFL develop a policy to ensure that those who feel the need to make homophobic remarks are made examples of I.e fired, by the AFL or their respective employers.
2. That the AFL develop a list of employees, players, ex players and others closely associated with the AFL who have made homophobic comments or committed homophobic acts and begin a process of firing them. (we acknowledge this will take some time and may severely reduce capacity so we will understand if this process is undertaken over the next 36 months to ensure recruitments can be made)
3. That the AFL redirect its millions in funding each year to promote the code to China into annually entering a fabulous float into sydneys gay and lesbian mardi gras to reduce and repair community perceptions of the org as a homophobic org.
4. Please insert more recommendations you think would be good here members and i'll consider putting them in

Yours Sincerely on behalf of the Talking Footy Membership,
Beaussie: Talking Footy Administrator
Wookie: Talking Footy Chief Moderator
King-Eliagh: Talking Footy inaugural member and spokesperson
Thanks again for your input and support members. We can make the AFL a better place!
