Interesting interview with hunt on the Sunday mail. For a person who has played 3 codes at a high level he nominates swallow from suns as someone who'd make it in the nrl, and rates Gary Ablett as the greatest footballer of all the codes that he has played with. He adds that the extra skills you need for AFL and the conditioning make it a challenging game.

Tell us about Garry Ablett?

I’ve got to say Gaz is the greatest footballer in any code that I have played with or against. I guess in rugby league the equivalent of a key midfielder would be a good five-eighth, half-back or fullback so you’ve got Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, Darren Lockyer, Johnathan Thurston these guys are the elite.

But the requirements to play AFL, rugby league pales in comparison because of the physical conditioning aspect and also the kicking, handballing, those types of things. For him to roll out every week cop a tag and get his high 30s (possessions) and kick a few goals, it is unheard of. He is special.

Could any Suns boys cut it in league or union?

David Swallow would be good. He’s strong, loves the physical combat side of footy and has explosive pace. He’d be very good.

How fucking dumb are fumblers.

When a player from another code signs up & are used as promotional tools then they say what they are told to say.
& surprise surprise it is always glowing about the code they signed for.

Happened with RL players when they went to RU.
Gaz was one.

For as long as they are on the payroll they read from the script they are given..
TLPG 🤣liar extraordinaire
You should thank me for publishing your IP

and I never published any actual IP. That's it.

Well guess we will see. Falou simply not fit enough ... Good at the rugbys and did well complementing his game at storm from learning some AFL skills such as the high mark etc but not the greatest.

Old Lockyer gave it to the nrl for not spending big and using its discretionary powers to get hunt and izzy back to nrl.

Hunt was nuttin special really. He just played during a period where there was a small dearth of fullbacks. If he hadve stayed in rl He wouldn't go close to rep selection these days.
