Very interesting you bring that up dave. While the NRL clearly has first and second string teams, it is still in my opinion that it is a closer competition then the AFL, with each team having a playoff often. There are still 11 teams still fighting for a top 8 spot and is the closest comp in years. As Much as I feel bad for teams like the western bulldogs or Melbourne I find it intresting that haven't made the 8 for a while. Enlighten me AFL fans
