Is The Snot Green Braiders bringing the whole NRL down!

Well folks with just 7k fans bothering to turn up on Sunday the question must really be asked are they good for the comp???

As we know the Snot Greens started in the comp in 1982 winning premierships in 1989, 1990, 1994, coming runner up in 1987 and 1991 and winning a minor premiership in 1990.

From the beginning it seems this club really has little in the way of meaningful support with an average of a little over 10k, making their first finals series in their third year one would expect an increase support but it wasn't to be with less than 10k crowds on average for the next 5 years with the years 86 and 87 being particularly bad with crowds on average less than 7k.

Some would say they really have not contributed much to the comp with their absolute best year only achieving an average home attendance of a little over 17k in 1994!!!! To put it in perspective without the Braiders the crowd averages raise from just over 16k to about 17k - which is not the 20k average the NRL wants but getting a lot closer!

Now in a time that memberships are all important and pre-commitment legislation is starting to bite hard the hotel and gaming industry this is an area they trail every professional sporting club in the country with a minuscule 8k members (a 5th of the Swans membership base!).

Then there's the TV ratings that show the Braiders have the lowest National interest of all the Australian RL clubs!

Then there's the despicable characters the culture of this club has produced, Carney, Monaghan and Ferguson to name but a few! Even their supporters are devoid of any moral fortitude with one famous supporter pissing on some kids bag on a bus from the game!!!

Ticking one box should not be enough - merely running a gaming empire should not grant a club the right to be on the national scene and IMO this club is an embarrassment with its hand out to the government, with pathetic crowds, small membership and little TV interest nationally. Yes folks this club brings down the whole NRL and stands in the way of other areas like North Sydney and Central Queensland - time to piss em off!!!

The gambling empire means they don't have to worry about fans, so they don't. It also means they're no chance of going under, so will be dragging down the nRL crowd average for years to come.

Wow, just a fifth eh. Well considering the Canberra population is about 1/14th of the population of sydney and the swans have about 15k members residing in Victoria... I'd say the raiders are doin fine

honestly in my humble opinion, the raiders are a disgrace not only for the nrl but for australians in general

no other club has produced a hall of shame of the 'whos who's'' like they have when you look at people like woman basher ferguson, piss drinker carney, beastiality major monaghan and countless other criminals that have been harvested in that cesspool of a town

their club has 0(ZERO) fans, awful tv viewership, unable to attract any players to their clubs and they have no money at all

their fans engage in riots with police an stewards and piss on buses also

absolute shambles of an organization!
