Seriously Pussy are you saying that ONLY tv ratings are the determinative factor to determine how big a club is?????? Answer me this - are the following;
Sponsorship
Crowds
Membership
Total football club football related revenue (I will not consider revenue from leagues clubs because are tipping money into poke machines not because they follow that club)
Merchandising

If you are stupid enough to say that these indicators aren't equal if not more important than TV ratings in order to determine a clubs size - than really your living in a fantasy world!!!!

Additionally if you say they do then the Swans are top in ALL these areas - which proves that are the largest club in Sydney!

Lastly tell me this what is the percentage of the ratings that follow a particular club????? I already know the answer - and you won't be able to tell me - 1st there are two clubs competing AND interested onlookers who support neither clubs! - 2nd if the ratings takers knew who individual households followed it would be open to question the entire ratings system - it can be open to manipulation and these ratings would lose integrity in their product!!!! So therefore ratings are the LEAST reliable indicator of popularity for these very reasons! Hate to burst your bubble but those are the facts - time for you to head back to those hills there pussy!!!!
Its not so easy to disprove your fantasys about being Sydneys biggest club . But your weird fantasys about biggest profit are.

While the 3 three factors you named maybe a factor in detetermening the biggest club they fall down - alarmingly - in the finances, ratings and on field Success departments. And your claim about sponsership is just that - a clam.
Profits from leagues clubs are not the same as profits from football related income - Swans operating profit from football related activities is 650k last year - which club in Sydney made more from football related activities - none (Manly Sea Eagles made 100k 1st time in 20yrs ). Swans have 39k members, average crowd of 31k, made 14 mil in sponsorship last year - total football related revenue 43 mil - given that the AFL distribution was about 11.3 mil - that means that 32 mil was raised thru merchandising, membership, sponsorship and gate receipts - NO NRL CLUB can match these figures which makes the Swans THE BIGGEST CLUB IN NSW!!!!!!!

The role of a football club is to put a team a team on the field and play football, not to make money. League clubs are established and trade of the back of there football clubs. That is why the Panthers were named as number one brand name in football by the Bussiness Review Weekly, and the Canterbury club was named at 3 (I seem to recall the financial review running a similar article also).

According to your logic - or lack of it, its alright for a football club to get handouts , as long as they don't get it from there leagues clubs.

South Sydney are privately owned , they do not have the backing a league club , and last year made a 1 million dollar profit.

Any NRL club???? The Brisbane Broncos are listed on the stock exchange, I dont know what there profit was, but I would be prepared to bet it was more than $600 000.

Again you miss the point - A leagues club core business is running a social/entertainment venue - a football club is to put a team on the field - The 'Panthers Group' were listed as the number one brand NOT the number one club. You talk of only two things - I am looking at many - Swans again AS A FOOTBALL CLUB IN NSW - largest membership, Largest crowd average, largest football related revenue base (not largest gifted monies from their leagues club affiliate - largest sponsorship largest merchandising - SWANS NUMBER 1 FOOTBALL CLUB IN NSW!!!!!!!!!

So, for the Swans to make that "profit" of $600 thousand they recieved $11 million 300 thousand worth of funding from the AFL. Though its not alright for NRL clubs to receive any additional funding from there league club's :?>

Largest profit? If you continually repeat something that you know is untrue than its a lie!

its simple and something you bumsniffers do not understand how little & worthless your clubs and game is. the funding for an nrl club is less than half what is is or an AFL club for survival . the NRL clubs still cannot make ends meat on their pissly little income and live off the poke income for that survival

Origin is becoming such ad drag. We'll struggle to get much more than 5m on FTA this week.

One day the NRL lobby will have more to hang their hat on than 3 matches a year
What about test Matches,
Matches against other international sides,
Nines tournaments.
And the best ratting club football competition in Australia.

wookie with all the figures you have collected, have you ever done an average for an AFL/ NRL games played
Friday night
Saturday evening/night
Sunday evening/night
it would be interesting because, the NRL air their games on tv in and around prime time & rarely shows the old traditional afternoon games, where as the AFL often does show the after noon games
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

Our club ratings are affected over the Origin period but there are about 15 other weeks in a season. I'll leave the fantasy world stuff to you and Fred
