I would agree with that but in fairness soccer isn't competing directly against either - so winter you could be one eyed Carlton summer one eyed Victory.

the aim is to grow your product, spazza dazza. the old soccer comp was a basket cast, the A league so far seems to be doing ok. their crowds have risen steadily & have teams in most major cities across Australia, something the NRL has not

it runs in the summer because the pitches wouldn't be suitable as we share a lot of stadia with rugby league and rugby union. everytime the calenders clash towards the end of the a-league season the pitch quality goes downhill, also it helps so it is in line with leagues in europe and most places around the world

the big bash outrated the a-league and its attendances were better but they only have 8 teams and there were only 35 matches for that league this season. there are 10 a-league teams that played 140 matches and unlike the BBL, the a-leagues ratings and attendances are improving every year whereas the BBL is slowly declining as its novelty is wearing off (just like soccer did circa 2009-2011)

sbs is doing a good job for the a-league and socceroos. its live friday a-league game consistently out-rates(usually double) any given fox game that weekend on the a-league and its socceroos world cup matches have proved that the socceroos are this countries most popular international side regardless of what form we are in or the opponent

i listed the fact the a-league went into a bad period from 2009 to 2011 already if you look back and read my previous posts, but its ok if you haven't

at the end of the day, its 4 years of growth whereas the nrl hasn't visibly improved at all over that same time, infact, you guys have gone backwards up until this year with 2013 being at 15,940 - a 500 person avg decline from the previous season

i did some more research and it seems the nrl hasn't seen any significant growth since 2005 when you're average was the same as it is now

that 20k goal by your ceo seems a bit farfetched if you ask me
