Re: TV RIGHTS KICK OFF
i hope they do sell SOO off separately as it is easily the most valuable part of the NRL. then we will see the difference between the H&A and finals for the two codes and the internationals chucked in for shits and giggles. the AFL will be further ahead

The Telstra Premiership is by a long long x10 way worth more vaulable to broadcasters.
STATE OF ORIGIN is equivalent to like 2 rounds of ratings of football per week >>> all 3 AFL Grand Finals
10 Million Viewers... vs 170mill Viewers Home and Away Season... Do the math please

without Origin and Internationals ( NRL still beat AFL) this was not the case pre covid. when deals were signed.
things have changed sharply..

according to googleFred wrote: Sat May 03, 2025 2:38 pmI’d like to know what a 30 second add is worth during origin as opposed to a gf and a home and away game.
How much do ads cost during the AFL Grand Final?
To put this all in perspective, a similar slot during Australia's most watched sporting spectacle, the AFL Grand Final, cost advertisers approximately AUD $215,000 for the same 30 seconds, albeit only to a domestic audience that is 30 times smaller (4 million viewers in 2024).
The going rate is slightly less during the NRL grand final, despite it being played in prime time on Sunday evening, with advertisers reported to be paying up to $130,000 for a 30-second spot. They are eye-watering sums but the reason the advertising rate is so high is simple.
