Good riddance Channel (NRL) 9 from season 07. =D>
And fuck Demetriou and co for selling NSW and QLD short again.
Sure the AFL got more money, but by agreeing to terms with Channel 9's original piss weak bid of
best endevours to promote the game in the northern states, Channel 7/10 are now not obligated to show prime time footy that was originally promised. Way to go Demetriou.

That sucks.....that is not a good way to honour Keery Packer! Also have you thought what impact this will have on Eddie Mcguire?.....7 and 10 are fucking bastards!

Screw conflict of interest Eddie McChins and the Packers. Those of us who are footy fans in the northern states have a better chance of better tv coverage with Channel 7/10, in particular Channel 10 who have demonstrated a real commitment to AFL coverage in prime time on Saturday nights.

Who do you think has been broadcasting Saturday night AFL prime time in Sydney for the past 5 years? I just hope it continues. Friday night footy in prime time would be great too (probably wont happen now though as the AFL has made it clear that wasn't a priority for them, preferring money over better coverage with Channel 9's bid).

There have been big games on Sat night that do not include the Ca Swannies and 10 shows them at midnight etc. They only show the Sat night games if the Ca Swannies are playing! Every other real AFL city will show the Sat night game live regardless who is playing.....

Yeah you would hope 7 got the rights. Now we can expect to see more of the Cow Show on SAS7 in Adelaide. What a fucked up show that was!

Channel Ten recently said they were going to broadcast all Saturday night games prime time in Sydney, something they began last season in Brisbane.

When I see it I will believe it. Live not 30 minute delays! I hope Eddie and Co come over to Ten. Eddie started in 10 in Melbourne years ago.

Isnt the reason they wont be showing AFL on friday nights because it would be absurd to take on rugby league in sydney?

Now that would have to be one of the most stupid things I've ever seen posted on a forum. The current deal with Channel Eddie doesn't see footy broadcast before midnight in Sydney and Brisbane. Eddie is very silent on the issue of improved coverage in the northern states on Channel 9. I wonder why?
