Crowd Predictions - Melbourne vs Nth Queensland in Sydney

The NRL wouldn't be expecting much you'd think for a game involving two interstate teams playing in Sydney. Still they'll probably get more than they would if the game was held in Melbourne.

My prediction, 10,000 - 12,000.

Why the hell are all semi finals held in Sydney anyway? So much for the N in NRL.

Nah, it is a finals game smack bang in rugby league heartland.. People should turn up to see an intense game of sudden death top level rugby league. It should get 25k at least judging by how passionate Sydney is about their league.

25k at least??? Surely you jest.

It was league heartland last time i checked and it's a big finals knockout match with two entertaining teams playing.

Be dissappointing not to get 25k for such a big match.

I saw on the news this morning the nth qld fan supporters club has fifty members in sydney. The number one member didnt seem too enthusiastic about the crowd and the nrl said it would be happy to hit 15000. I predict 17000.

Turn it up!!

I dont have the league figures at hand, but the last time the aussie rules got a crowd below 17k to a finals match was in 1917.

JF_Bay22_SCG has informed me that the NRL is giving away free tickets to any St George or Newtown supporters in the hope that the crowd on Saturday night looks somewhat decent. How pathetic. They can't play the game in Melbourne because it'll look embarrassing and in Sydney (so called rugby league heartland), the NRL has has to resort to free tickets. Sad state of affairs that's for sure.

Shame there isn't any Storm or Cowboys fans in Sydney to sing "That's My Team" on Saturday night. :(/

I think i'll be the closest to the mark.

If the NRL can't get my figure giving away 20,000 free tickets then there are massive problems.

2,500 tickets sold and 20,000 free tickets floating around all over Sydney. Tell me again, this is the NRL Finals isn't it?

How pathetic. Could you ever imagine the AFL ever selling as little as 2,500 tickets for a final, or even worse handing out free tickets?

at least the Melbourne players will feel right at home....

Guess i was a bit optimistic. It got 16k

hmmm... so if 2500 were sold, and 20,000 given away for free, what the hell happened to the 6,000 odd free tickets that never got used?

How sad. Even with free tickets, the rugby league loving public are still not too interested. Gee imagine the financial loss made on the game tonight with only 2,500 tickets sold. Consider the hire costs of the stadium, caterers, staff etc. What a disaster for the NRL.

Once again the King has spoken more truth than the others. My prediction of 17000 was much much closer than both of you numbats.

Dr nic let me tell you a few things you may not no about beaussie.

1. He lies about figures to make AFL look stronger than it is and rugby league look weak.

2. He is living smack bang in the middle of league heartland and he doesnt like it one bit.

3. He has a clitoris in his brain which you strangely enjoy stimulating.
