Wow, Seven’s AFL was number one nationwide and the best result for the season. Another massive win again for the AFL over the NRL too.

That reach number for the AFL compared to the NRL is phenomenal.

Top 30 Programs - Free-to-Air - Total People - Total TV
Rank Description Network Reach Average BVOD

1 SEVEN’S AFL: FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Seven 2,013,000 714,000 49,000

The Gather Round continued from Adelaide on Seven with an easy win for Collingwood over Sydney. With main channel coverage in Sydney, the average audience was 714k, up 130k from last week and the best Friday AFL result of the season.

Over on Nine, the Roosters victory over the Broncos averaged 600k, the same as the previous Friday

4 FRIDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 1,304,000 600,000 91,000
only **** care about reach
its a metric designed to make them look better , it means ZIP

of the 2 games over Thursday Friday ....
the NRL with STV attracted a larger audience nationally...the NRL continues to pull further & further away

How good is that 16% increase when the Saturday Games have become exclusives

for me them numbers do not look that good.

Example

You have lost FTA on Saturdays, and FOX gains exclusivity but the number is only 16% overall
Discuss ??
Good point Leeroy. You would think that with no FTA on Saturdays Fox should improve much much more than 16%. That number isn't going to cover the FTA ratings lost. This is going to effect overall ratings. Not a good sign for the fumbling game.
yep exactly, of course AFL should be up, you now have all of Saturday
what dopey fwed is not taking into consideration is the ratings increase for STV for twerpball is being offset by a significant DROP in FTA ratings
so the fumbles misses & stumbles overall may not have had much of an increase or maybe none at all

Another big win for the AFL over the NRL. I don’t think the AFL and Channel 7 has been beaten on any Thursday night this season.

Massive gap between the codes in reach and average tv ratings yet again.

Rank Description Network Reach Average BVOD

1 SEVEN’S AFL: THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Seven 1,909,000 644,000 47,000

6 THURSDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 1,240,000 561,000 78,000

On a quiet night ahead of a long weekend, AFL Thursday featuring a one-side win for Collingwood over Brisbane was the night’s top sporting event averaging 644k, down 65k from the previous week.

The NRL delivered a close fought game with The Dragons holding on for a two-point win over the Sea Eagles. However, the TV audience of 561k was down +100k from the last Thursday game and was a six-week low.

On the ratings network that the advertisers and networks don’t even believe in. AFL got more in the latest broadcast deals?

Beatup, you have stated a couple of whopping lies here pal. You need to retract these statements: " I don’t think the AFL and Channel 7 has been beaten on any Thursday night this season. Massive gap between the codes in reach and average tv ratings yet again."

I have sourced the actual facts from our dear mutual friend Sportsindustry (AKA The Sookie). He states that the average FTA ratings for the fumbling game on Thursdays is 645k. The Average for Australia's most watch sport i.e. Rugby League is 655k.

Now I know you're less than hopeless with maths and the truth beatup. But I must point out that 655 is a greater number than 645. Please to speak to Mrs beatup if you can't comprehend this.

This means that RL is the most watched sport on Thursday nights this year in our great vast land. It's a close run thing beatup but the fact remains that 655 is bigger than 645. And of course we know that once Fox is added RL will smash the fumbling game.

Now if you dispute this you will have to research a couple of blokes who were good on calculations. I suggest A.Einstein and I. Newton. From them you will learn that numbers don't lie pal.

I hope you have found this educational beatup. Have a great day and keep morale high.

Thanks Sooks. Explains it all very well pal. It's basically a very close run race. I noted earlier that despite the great game of AFL having a 4-2 advantage the NRL has a slightly better average overall. (Beatup take note!!!!!!).

Cheers Sooks.
