Massive Crowds Welcome New A-League

Wow, must say I'm very surpised by the massive turnouts in Sydney and Brisbane for the new A-League.
25k in Sydney and 20k in Brisbane.
The crowd in Brisbane was bigger than the first crowd for the Broncos:

The A-League administration must be very happy with things so far. Will the big crowds continue though? That's the real test.

The crowd was bigger than the broncos because the population of brisbane is way bigger now than in '88. Its just simple mathematics, but one thing the journo has stated that i thought may have startled you more beaussie was the line
the state's most popular sporting club - the Brisbane Broncos
No surprise to my ears but i never thought i'd see the day you posted this line beaussie! QLD is rugby league heartland!

Some massive crowds in Brisbane and Sydney.
I wonder what sort of crowds victory will get at Olympic Park, more than the Storm!

That wouldn't be too difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if the Victory get 20,000 this week.

Disappointing crowd for the Perth Glory though considering their huge drawing power in the previous NSL. Not sure what went wrong there.

Hmmm, crowd support would be a good indicator of most popular wouldn't you agree? How do you explain these average home crowd figures:
Looks like the Brisbane Lions are clearly more popular with the football public in Brisbane.
Even this season with the Lions not even making the Top 8 and you saying they're dead, they still attracted more fans than the top of the table Broncos. Strange eh?
Anyway, all that aside, this thread was about the spectacular start to the new A-League season. Even you'd agree the crowds in Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle should be viewed as very encouraging to those running the A-League.

The thing about Brisbane is that there all bandwagoners and they jumped on 2001 what were there growds in 2000?

2000 - 27,406
They've had healthy crowds for many years now. Let's also not forget that in many of those years listed above, the Gabba capacity was not what it is today.

Visited The Gabba this year to so Tigers v Lions sat next to a supporter who didnt no who number 3 was!
