In an extraordinary outburst of honesty by AFL standards GWS coach Alan Kingston admitted "no one plays AFL in western Sydney". He then pleaded for more money to be thrown at the 2.5M western Sydneysiders that don't play or care about his fumbling mess.

Now, I admire his brutal honesty that must be incredulous to AFL folk used to hearing "we are taking over the world" rhetoric from fumble house. But how much money does the bloke want thrown at the golden west of good 'ol Sydney town?????

His Ginats run on more funding than many small African nations. Fumble house has flooded the joint with freebies for everyone. Development officers are on every street corner. Schools have been sent free AFL baby sitters who try indoctrinate 5 year olds and entice 'em with gifts and Shirrens.

Yet, as KIngston says, no plays the mess. No one follows the mess. Honesty is an unknown commodity in fumble land. All power to Kingston though. But surely even he knows they must close the joint down. No one anywhere in the golden west cares.

This is their 13th season in Western Sydney , they've played finals 7 times, played 3 prelim finals & made the GF once
all ofc as a result of these enormous advantages they get over most teams & nothing else

&, they're less popular now then they were in 2012 , like less popular then a turd lollipop,
The thuns at least have some excuses for having no fans on the GC & costing the AFL 35 mill plus $ every year , they haven't been near finals .... ever
they're fucking hopeless ...

The Vic clubs are just saying why are we pissing money up against the wall on these hopeless causes ?

an unmitigated disaster

The GWS Giants was a dreadful idea lacking research from the Andrew Demetriou administration era.
The expansion idea was not developed enough and this was very badly executed.
Giants moniker lacks appeal, an extremely incompetent lazy choice.
GWS as a name does not work and turns away potential fans from other parts of Sydney whom don't want to follow a team who identifys as Western Sydney .
I almost forgot, the Israel Folau fiasco, He really put in and gave his all but didn't have appropriate training for the transition to Australian rules.
He was rushed in for marketing purposes , totally dishonest reasons.

The AFL administration still refuses to own up to these mistakes to evade criticism.

The expansion into GC has been a success with good crowds and growing TV figures.

the decision on the midgets wasn't lazy , it was arrogant
arrogant because the aflol believed its product was popular in sydney & that was all over sydney , fact is , it was only popular among ex pats from vicdumbia & snoody union fans who no longer followed that sport , they were limited in both number & location ( east & lower north shore )
there were no fumbleball fans west of the anzac bridge & never will be

GC crowds are only ever big when vicdumbians attend games & the infomercial channel would be embarrassed by thuns TV ratings in QLD

All footy fans know footy is not popular in Western Sydney. This is not a new thing.

I have heard it is a dump out there anyway so as if we care that Australia's game is not popular there.
