Tassie Devils It Is

Announced today the new Tassie team will be called the Tasmania Devils. Apparently some talk with Warner Bros re: Trafe Mark laws which, I read, was made a lot easier once Warner officials realised that there was actually an animal called the Tasmanian Devil -making Amy claims, I suspect, much more difficult. Also, that there is already a team in Tassie with this name and one previously known as this - hence trademark law also would be difficult to apply in Australia at least, given already used and has local meaning (hence Ugg Boots can be used by anyone in Australia as seen as a colloquial term for any boot made of wool- but no where else on the world).

Anyway - just got to get the stadium built.

Anyways, the club should be a success, just need the stadium sorted out as the AFL has made it clear… no stadium… no team. Election this weekend will be interesting.

‪If the roofed Stadium is an absolute requirement should be a least 30,000.‬
‪That being said, it would be a very short term government, that denies Tasmania an AFL team.‬

Think you may be right here. Can’t see the AFL scrapping the team - and may do up existing stadiums. All depends on the election.

Think you may be right here. Can’t see the AFL scrapping the team - and may do up existing stadiums. All depends on the election.

The Big Dill has said, '.....no stadium, no team'. Pretty clear that. I mean surely The AFL wouldn't tell bald face lies lolololololololol!!!!!!! The current government are getting shaky on the deal and Labor has stated if they win the upcoming election they'll scrap the current stadium deal and do another one.

The Big Dill will have the extortion squad down there quick smart if this goes bad for him. I'd be backing the stadium to be built on past performance. I mean Scarface and Lefty can be very persuasive lolololololololol.
