I must admit the TV ratings of only 41,000 in Sydney for the Swans Blues class Friday night seemed very low.

For a city of 5 Million people that is not great.

That's incredibly good numbers for Australia's most watched sport. And incredibly bad numbers for the fumbling mess. I would say the numbers have never been further apart.

I will come in with something Terry & that is that I think Origin is awesome. It is one of the best rivalries in Australian sport. It is the only time I will watch a whole game of Rugby League & that says a lot as I think it is the most boring sport on earth.

Even quite a few people from the footy states watch it just because of the brutality & rivalry not because they like Rugby League.

VIC vs SA was the biggest match but any State playing other than QLD & NSW for obvious reasons was huge.

Tasmania beat the Vics in the early 90s & people down there still talk about it. Same with Western Australia.

The only reason the AFL got rid of Origin is that too many states play footy so it is not a 2 state thing & no one really cares because the regular season is the main thing to win.

I doubt Rugby League can say the same thing...
