When is the last time a Broncos game sold out? Definitely not once this year. Most games the stadium seems half empty.

That is pretty bad considering it is a Rugby League city.

Yet Lions Richmond sell out in 1 day.

To be fair, it is a final but yes, there have been massive crowds at the Gabba this year. More importantly, when I went to the Collingwood game against the Lions there was clearly a majority of Lions supporters who also appeared passionate and knowledgeable about the game.

Membership numbers for the lions growing, 40400
A big lead over the Broncos this year.

viewtopic.php?t=7290

Broncos membership record was 36000 in 2018.
https://www.broncos.com.au/news/2018/12 ... d-numbers/

Dolphins will only cannabalises these membership numbers

I do think Dolphins is a great moniker for a footy club and will make for great merchandise opportunities
How a team on the Gold coast ( where there a real dolphins ) ended up with a silly meaningless name like the Titans, has me dumbfounded.
titans upon entry in 2007 had the Dolphins as there name (GOLD COAST DOLPHINS)

they were sued by the Redcliffe Dolphins who said we own the dolphin brand
and hope to join the NRL one day...

so Titans had to do a name change..

Fast forward 14 years and they were announced as the 17th NRL team.

Titans name def does not suit the Gold Coast i agree..

AFL posters on here were struggling with the fact (why did they do a Thursday game)

I had no doubt it would get 30k odd (which is a sell out at the GABBA)

It will get 37,000 which is basically full. I know the reason for this is because its a final & they are playing Richmond who are extremily popular nation wide but I still think its great it sold out so quickly.

Go Lions. Although I think we will get thrashed :(

Certainly not playing all that well and the important end of the season.
Forward line need to contribute more.
Crowd will be interesting..
Sold out, then at least 35,000

maybe they're bigger then the Titans.... maybe

but they're so far behind the Broncs & Cows its not funny
& will be 4th / 5th behind the Dolphins from next year

the only people who are interested in the derps & misses is ex sthn ex pat mongs who've moved to QLD or their offspring
this also being the case in NSW too , the exception being that narrow strip on the NSW side of the murray

these are the only people interested in this silly little sport

meanwhile the kitty kats have had zero capacity crowds at the gabba .... not just in 2022
