NRL to meet with NSW Govt officials as soon as today on grand final. Still some hope a compromise can be reached.

ARL Commission to meet again later this week with a call needing to be made on venue ASAP
Any updates?

Political suicide for the struggling NSW Government to back down now I suspect.

Would NSW really care if the NRL GF went to Brisbane anyway? Is the QLD Government offering millions of taxpayer dollars for NRL stadiums and upgrades to secure the GF?
this in my opinion is what will occur.

NRL will agree to hold GF in SYDNEY long term>>

Government will agree to redevelop stadiums across sydney, ( though instead of beginning straight away or next few years for completition

Some stadiums will be put on the back burner and upgraded in time (just not now) because of the budget blow out
The NSW Government will let South Sydney break their recently renewed contract to play at Homebush until 2030, allowing them to play at the new SFS. The NRL will at the same time agree to the NRL GF staying in Sydney long term I suspect. Funding for suburban grounds will likely not happen until after next election and over a longer term. I’m almost certain now that we will see a new Labor government swept to power after all the corruption being exposed in the current NSW Coalition government. Not to mention the it’s time for change sentiment in the community.

Is Chris Minns a rugby league fan? He will be our next Premier in NSW.

Wrong as usual.

No NSW politician is ever likely to use the floor of Parliament to share Bob Carr's once declared antipathy towards rugby league. None is likely to leave a sporting legacy as extensive for many years.

It took about half his premiership, but Carr eventually realised he could forgo watching every NRL match each weekend, and refrain from directly insulting people who do.
