it is literally the biggest game in almost 20 years for the Lions.

It should rate pretty well.
100k Plus

(i do not expect NRL to rate that well into Brissy tonight.
it will beat the AFL as it should. but not by a huge amount.
Parra v Raiders Semi.
Lions were pathetic last night. Most of the night it looked as if they had totally given up even trying. Fully expecting to see really miserable tv ratings for last nights prelim.
104k was spot on the money,
and also new raiders v parra would not gain that much traction in QLD

i think the Lions were just outplayed literally the fresh casts with the weekend off

Lions played in 2 pretty games prior,

I don’t think anyone could argue that Aussie rules is not the second ranked code in Queensland nowadays .

The Lions were so bad against Geelong.

It was very upsetting to watch.

Lol will have to look for Gil the lying Dils quote about AFL

Just like his NZ playing numbers outright lie ..he now talks absolute shit ( the AFLOL away) about QLD that will get lapped up by the dumb head nodding brainwashed southern hicks .

McClachlan's speech, not verbatim but re Queensland 'in a year two, football will be the biggest code in the state, something unthinkable a decade ago'.

Lol lol lol
How’d the lions go the other night .
More people watching the Broncos at the game than watching the kitty Kats on Ch 7 .

The lions were really bad the other day.

Also I don't think anyone has ever said that QLD will become a footy state & take over Rugby League.

Please show me evidence of someone saying that.

The Broncos will always be the biggest & most popular sporting club in QLD. I think the Lions are second though when 15 years ago the Reds would have come in second. The reds are pretty much irrelevant now just like Rugby Union is.

There is a bit of a difference between the popularity of the codes/leagues and their respective clubs, but in Qld I’d say both the AFL and the lions should be ranked 2nd….The Dolphins may well eclipse them but it is a bit early to tell.

:hmm:
     :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

The Dolphins will average 42K at Suncorp after Friday
The paddle pop Wions averaged 25K last year

The Dolphins would have rated 300K (FTA & STV combined ) in Brisbane for their 1st game
the wions wouldn't have got 40K

& I think the Cowboys have a lot more followers in QLD then the wions too

Yes, the Dolphins will have a good average after this round and I fully expect them to have a higher attendance average than the lions at the end of the season.
But I don't think it will last.
I don't think they will have disastrous figures in the future….just not as good as their first season.
Remind me at the end of their third season.

I think they’ll go well. They are in an NRL city with an already strong supporter base that has built over the years. It”d be like putting Norwood in the AFL - of course they would have lots of support.

The wions present success won't last either , they're due for a dip again. Back to crowds under 20K & TV ratings to match.
All things are cyclical
Both doing well ... Dolphins bigger
both doing poorly ... Dolphins bigger
