Brisbane Lions TV Ratings

So I did ask this in another thrash but no response snd thought it may be a good thread topic in and of itself. Plus putting in AFL forum to avoid the none sense of the Fight Club forum.

So a general question.. what would be a ratings figure for the Lions in Brisbane that would indicate they are doing well in garnering support in Brisbane ? I think if they get maybe 150000 that would be a massive success but if they were to get 80000 to 100000 thousand consistently that would be serviceable I think and AFL over the moon.

Another way to possible gauge it would be if they were able to get say half of what the Bronco”s average maybe?

Thoughts. And please we are looking for figures here to measure and not fight club dribble.

on the few occasions this year the LIONS rated in the range of 60k to 90k for some of the BIG GAMES
Finals matches and Richmond game.
otherwise they returned to the AVERAGE MARK of around the 40k
this does include day games also

all games were screened on FTA

if you look at the pass few seasons they have prob averaged 30-50k over the entire season
but that has come with a TOP 4 finish every time
and the demise of QLD clubs in Rugby League.

when not making the finals outside of those 3 years
it was quite dismal and very low.
below 25k

if you look the numbers for the LIONS on all aspects.

2018 to 2021

Memberships have doubled
ratings have doubled
crowds have doubled.

all from success TOP 4

That has Bandwagon written all over it lol

So the question is - what is a good baseline of TV ratings (FTA and FOX) that would see people say they are rating well overall. What would they have to rate for people to acknowledge it as being good.

I agree, you want sustained ratings at a particular level. May be a better example would be the Storm who have been clearly on top of their game for past 10 years or more.

BASE RATINGS through 7network FTA
i think the AFL would like to see around 70k to 80k every LIONS Game
and pushing upwards of 100k
Lions games on FOX do not seem to rate that well outside of Finals.

Storm ratings are different.
one majority are on FOX> which rate extremely well.
with FTA games throughout the year with no constituency to when they are on.

example could go 3 weeks with no FTA then FTA Friday, FTA Thursday. than 2 FOX games in a row.
with the Viewer leaning towards FOX who would be ACTIVE FANS>

FTA Game for Storm throughout the year outside of Finals tend to rate around 40k on Average.
which is low,
there is no doubt that if STORM were on FTA every week. FTA ratings would increase.

But the NRL like to keep both FOX and FTA Happy.
like they do with the Broncos.
15 FTA games
9 FOX Games

you halfwit
enough with this crap

they're doing a bit better then usual only ...... only , because they're going alright on the field
not because of anything else like the sport is making inroads

a few bad seasons & they're rating like the test pattern again & going broke like all the derps & misses sides in NSW & QLD
tney are NOT ... making any impact on that

end of

its wether they can be sustainable when going shit , & really

there are only 2 clubs in QLD that can do that in any code
the Broncos & Cowboys
the Dolphins will join those 2 in that category in 2023

the Titans are a worry

See Lions are on the main channel 7 tonight. Also the after game wrap is on which is unusual as they usually cut it off pretty much also on after the siren.

I didn't even know it was a bye round in the NRL. It is not the only time the AFL has been on the main channel however I believe. I think if they thought something else would rate better they would put it on so I think it is a significant thing when it is played on the main channel - and also the after game stuff as well.
