wasn't it on at the same time as the tennis final?

With so much streaming going on nowadays I don,t think ratings give much of an indication any more.

Yep. And in 2020 it was on the main channel. This year due to the women's AO final it was on GEM. Massive difference in scheduling & hardly worth comparing.

Thursday

THURSDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 463,000 236,000 79,000 148,000 0 0

LIVE: NRL: STORM V RABBITOHS FOX LEAGUE 335,000

LIVE: NRL PRE GAME THURSDAY FOX LEAGUE 86,000

https://tvtonight.com.au/2021/03/thursd ... -2021.html

Was the game live in Melbourne on Channel 9 last night? Seems like very low tv ratings for winning Melbourne Storm?

Be interesting how this compares to the AFL first game next week. Will the AFL be up against the NRL next week?? I don't know why the AFL give the NRL a free run for a week - although usually two weeks. Still gave them a whipping last year - even when they add in the ARL's SOO.......

Yeah, it will Freddo. But as usual your mob will need huge numbers on Fridays because they are your showcase games through the year. Unlike Rugby League which as a 3 tiered sport has multiple showcase games throughout the year that are not the domestic NRL comp.

And as for last year.........................come on pal..............I don't even know what the numbers ended up being...........because it's irrelevant!!!! Last year was an anomaly, an outlier, a year like no other. It is pointless comparing anything in the year of the plague.

But good luck for the new season Frederico!!!!!!

Yep strange how the AFL gives the NRL a week or two grace every season. That aside though, another hiding for the NRL is to be expected when only one code is truly national.

Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens delivered a bigger average audience than the NRL on Nine, but only just. Seven had a reasonable Friday audience of 346,000 for its movie Ladies in Black.

The first Friday football clash, which saw the Eels overtake the Broncos, saw Nine the clear leader in Sydney and Brisbane. In Sydney Nine News and the NRL were the most-watched shows. In Brisbane the NRL was a clear favourite.

Nine 657,000 (Metro 408,000 Regional 249,000)

that when the QLD team is announced, FOX DEAL
is renegotiated on terms of contract.

Thus Upping deal from year of inclusion.
