Most games overlap.? LOL what does this even mean :hmm: :^o :^o

Nobody watches 8 or 9 games over the weekend most not even 5or 6.

An NRL viewer can watch a maximum of just 3 games a week (60%) of people , Add Origin (but, but saw)
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

lol 100% overlapping is pointless.

what percentage of people would even watch all 9 matches / 8 matches.

AFL Tv Contract is done to make the most money for broadcasters and AFL

just like the NRL is with 5 Exclusive games to FOX.

the difference between the 2 is..

AFL have alot better FTA DEAL which has a bigger reach which equals to bigger ratings.

Use your brains FFS.

On Saturday AFL games shown in isolation rate nearly double the average of games shown concurrently. This is just a fact
Yesterday:
Port Adelaide v West Coast Eagles 141,000
St Kilda v Richmond 260,000
Essendon v Carlton 183,000
Gold Coast Suns v Fremantle 79,000

Average STV ratings for games in isolation: 200k
Average STV ratings for games shown concurrently: 130k

So the ratings were 40% lower for games shown concurrently despite being in prime time!

Furthermore, there were around 1 mil people watching the AFL last night, which is similar to Thursday and Friday night. Yet concurrent scheduling means the average ratings were only 500k. If Essendon v Carlton was played in isolation it would have rated around 1mil on it's own, as it would have on any night.

Not really the point. For most prime time slots there will be around 800k - 1mil watching either the AFL or NRL. If you put 2 games on at the same time you still get around the same audience but it's split in 2. Therefore your average drops by 50%
AFL Tv Contract is done to make the most money for broadcasters and AFL
It benefits ch7 but disadvantages fox. However, the Broncos are shown on FTA most weeks anyway so NRL fans in Brisbane get a similar deal to AFL fans in Perth and Adelaide
AFL have alot better FTA DEAL which has a bigger reach which equals to bigger ratings.
See above, on the surface it appears much better but the reality is different. Our second and third biggest markets get an advantage compared to Melbourne and your second biggest market gets an advantage compared to Sydney.

So we get a slight FTA advantage and you get a massive STV advantage

AFL 4.3 to our 3 . FTA matches going to the entire audience , PTV audiences go to about 40% of the audience. But your disadvantaged

On Saturday and Sundays your FTA is shown into there own locations. Each extra home audience attract 50-100% more ratings. But again your the one being disadvantaged.

And then people are watching all 9 games just to disadvantage you further

And there is a reason why your shit matches are shown in the timeslots that there shown in. - to further disadvantage you  :(/

we went through this last year ](*,)

The AFL has 3-4 FTA games per round. The NRL has 3 FTA for all but their last 4 rounds when they get 4. The NRL also has more rounds. So in the end the number of FTA games for each market isn't that different, especially in Mel and Syd which are by far the biggest market for each code.

For Saturday and Sunday the AFL target home states on FTA. Yet the NRL target Brisbane with the broncos most weeks on FTA anyway.

So again, the FTA difference isnt that big

Yet on pay TV the difference is hugely in favour of the NRL! This is where the difference in cumulative ratings comes out.

Plus the AFL audience is averaged over 50% more time which wouldnt affect fans of each club but would no doubt effect neutrals.

LOL I could say the same to you. Only time and time again you proven your brain doesn't work or you don't have one. Its all about getting more viewers , and rugby league gets more viewers!

out of 19 games this season (shorten) Broncos will play 13 FTA games into QLD

where as

Crows, port, freo, eagles. will play 68 games on FTA
its 1 team v 4 teams.

The Advantage is to the AFL.

Your logic is amazingly flawed. The Broncos are Brisbane's only nrl club so they capture the entire market, plus a large proportion of the population around it. The crows, power, dockers and Eagles share their cities following, so they appeal to only a proportion of their population. In effect they add together to compete with the broncos.

So yes, the AFL have an advantage in FTA, but it amounts to 6 rounds, not the entire season. However, I dare say some of this advantage is negated by having AFL games shown on 7 mate into these states, plus Perth getting prime time games in Melbourne starting at 5.30pm local time

The advantage is way less than you guys claim

You guys are the one that keeps banging on also. You both obviously disagree or have different points of view. If you both keep bringing it up then the other is going to counter this with their view. You do it from both sides. Each thinking the other is wrong and they are right.
