State of Origin

Post by Beaussie »

Yep, certainly would like to see the return of the old State of Origin days where even my great state of NSW was properly represented. I still have fond memories of the night NSW humiliated the arrogant star studded Victorians at the SCG.😎

Am not a fan of Victoria vs All Stars or Allies concepts though. Reeks of Victorian arrogance I reckon.

Thoughts?

The usual excuse - the AFL arn't interested in showboating.
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

I think for the charity event VICTORIA V THE REST was suitable.
but calling it STATE OF ORIGIN as the media keep pumping it out as, is a joke.

Good on ya pal!!!!! You'd be about the only person in NSW that remembers that glorious night lololoolololol!!!!! Well done!!

I can see why you AFL types are so desperate to get SOO back on track though. The Rugby League version is the highlight sporting event of the year in good 'ol Australia. Year on year. Good luck with reviving your own version. I'm not sure NSW would beat Vic any time soon though. What's your thoughts beatup???

Is that the game where swans players were eligible to play for nsw. I think Greg Williams was captain ? Then again Jason Dunstall, qld great, played for Victoria so.
