For someone to play RL at the top level they need ..
Not much at all.
It used to be reasonably common for people to play Australian Rules Football and then swap over to Norther English Rules Rugby in their latter sporting years in Sydney.
Really?? You've have to supply names and details pal otherwise I call BS.
Lol he's avoiding this .

You ignore the fact afl crap (I suspect conveniently) thst it was a marketing ploy (that failed miserably) and neither player would not have had an opportunity to develop had they not been part of a start up team. Hunt took years to develop into a fringe player at best ... and credit to him... he would do okay at any sport he applied himself to I feel. Falou was basically a failure despite high potential ..... to lazy I feel possibly but naturally gifted ... hunt worked hard.
You ignore the fact Freddy boy that no matter what you say or excuses you give Hunt and Folau both played top level AFL.

And of course one of the greatest fumble coaches of all time said the AFL should try to lure Folau back to fumbling 4 years after he quit. Here's a couple of the quotes in this remarkable article from 2016.

"Give the ball to Izzy Folau coming out of defence and people will go 'wow'," Sheedy said.

"Izzy Folau will cut a swathe through them. He'll be like Michael Jackson coming out of the back line."

Take a read Freddy and educate yourself pal.

According to Champion Data player ranking points, Folau's first season in the AFL grades him the 415th player out of the 416 to have played 10 or more games. Only 22-year-old Richmond small utility Addam Maric has a lower Champion Data ranking points average this season

Lol
This thread attracts the jealous fumblers like flies to cowshit.

2 Rl players can basically walk into the AFl comp with little or no background & play at the highest level .
So far we havnt had one afl player play at our highest
Our second highest
Our third highest .
Lol
Unco is not rewarded in RL
It's seen as a talent in fumbleball .

Your trying to turn failure in to success and stamp your feet in the process!

Why would an afl play want to play league,
For starters they have completely different bodies required for each game
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m

Lol
No prob .
Even with no background in fumbling a ball .

When some unco fumbler makes it to even NRl level get back to me

You are assuming an elite afl player would want to? As I said, given the right money (and lots of it) they may take that risk but until then we will never know.

"You can imagine the stress with trying to learn the game and skills and physically trying to change my body shape to play AFL football.

"The AFL was a fantastic challenge for me. It was the hardest challenge going around and I am happy I went for it."

Different body types, league and unions finest proved that they couldn’t make it in the afl after being picked as promotional tools
And given every opportunity succeed! But failed!

I don’t think Hunt failed per se. He worked hard, trained hard... he’s an athlete and the sort of guy who’s be good a table tennis if he applied himself. At the suns, given his role as promotional fodder, he was given every opportunity to develop ... opportunities he definitely wouldn’t have got at any other club except GWS. To his credit he took that opportunity and had a few decent games, kicked a couple of good goals. Was serviceable at the suns.

Falou was an out and out failure. God given talent he just didn’t have the engine for AFL. He was being taught by the finest, given opportunities to develop, and played in games he had no right to be playing in... as they had to play him. He just could not cut it. Performs in small bursts ... hence placed in forward line... which would be fine playing local grade or in 1970s but not this day and age where a forward is required to run up and down the ground creating space, leading forward and back. He just wasn’t up to it. Hunt though I think did okay.
