I can see why the NRL are looking down this path>>

the AFL have a huge advantage>> 2 extra breaks and half-time is twice as long.

(i just could not see it happening) it would take the fatigue out of the game)

(unless they shorten the interchange) and stopped the clock alot more.)

I guess 2 extra breaks could work) maybe 2-3mins long.

Geez there's some home truths in that article that some of the AFL lot can't& won't face

Read it & weep
FTA ratings are in decline worldwide as people watch myriad other entertainment options on a range of devices. Sport and reality TV are the only guaranteed ratings winners. Channel Nine, the owners of this masthead, had nine of TV’s top 10 programs this year and four were rugby league, allowing Nine to reclaim the crown as No.1 network after 12 years. The AFL grand final on Seven was the only exception.

NRL finished 2019 ahead of AFL on FTA and Fox, even before the end-of-season Test matches. According to sportsindustry, an Adelaide-based app that tracks sports viewership, rugby league had 116.23 million viewers on Nine and Fox at an average of 490,000 per match, while AFL was 111.9m on Seven and Fox at an average of 419,000.

Fox would not exist without the NRL. When AFL and NRL Fox figures are combined, sportsindustry says Collingwood is the AFL’s top-rating club in rank 13 "with 12 NRL teams above it". It continues: "Every other AFL team has an average lower than the lowest rating NRL team – Gold Coast."

Overall, AFL consumes more hours (277.9m), compared to the NRL (190m), but rugby league is the most valuable sport in Australia....by half and not quarters.

You think fox with all of their contract specialist, lawyers etc didn’t know what they were doing?

As to some nrlolol fans who think they know better :(/ :(/

I mean all you had to do was look at the finals series’s! Year in year out the AFL slaughters the nrlolol! This year is even had gws playing !
You know that team you loons claim that has no fans

Will be very interesting to see how the next contracts pan out if AFL is rating lower on Fox and FTA.

How can AFL ask for more money than NRL if they are rating lower most of the time?

Is a well known fact in the industry that Rugby League has one of the best tv sport products out there due to the field dimensions and structure of the game.

Many people say AFL is harder to view on tv compared to live.

if the AFL ran their fixture like the nrl does game, games are shown in isolation etc revolving it around primetime tv they would get even more than they already are than the NRLOL

What Rot
It's been shown over & over that what you
Claim is not true yet you repeat it
So Here we go again Shit that has been shown to be just that .repeated on an endless loop
Your TV games are in prime time just like some Rl games
When shown thurs nite
..yep both codes in prime time
Fri night
Yep the same
You have prime time AFL games sat night .
We have about 5 all year on FTA

Both codes have sun arvo games
On fTA ..
So that destroys that pile,of crap .

As for the isolation .
Lol here we go again .
To make up for that games are targeted into home areas if games overlap .
Why .
To maximise viewers . .

Lol please feel, free to argue against any of these facts .

Your imagination is wrong crapper!
Thursday night
Fright night the AFL slaughters the nrlol nearly every time
Nearly every finals game
Most grand finals! Even more hilarious is the fact nrlol is prime time Sunday night

This has been the way for years!
Severe AFL games are shown along side each other in earlier times slots and the nrlol is isolation and more
Prime time

Of the AFL ran a fixture like the nrlol with games in isolation, it would slaughter the nrlol even more as proven year in year out with the Thursday, Friday games & finals games

But don’t let facts ruin your limited imagination

Oh dear . So you make a claim that the NRl revolve their fixture around prime time tv ..
When shown once again that the AFL do the same you ignore & rant .
Well done
Why keep reposting that if you know it's not true .

A reduction in the interchange might be the way to go.
