I see Gallun is making excuses already. But I particularly liked the one that the fight is in Melbourne where he is hated and where Cronulla are hated. Firstly, most people in a Melbourne wouldn’t have known him prior to this fight ... and most people would not know he played for Cronulla ... and a hell of a lot wouldn’t even know Cronulla is a rl team. Anyway... isn’t he pretty well universally hated?

Bullshit he had a media career when he was going to start boxing
When he announced he was retiring from fumbling & king hitting unsuspecting players it was announced he was taking up boxing .
He shit himself when it actually came to getting in the ring with someone who was ready to fight .
He had a media career on triple or fox tell but was sacked over a joke over another persons wife!

Now he is a pleb like the rest of us so he wants to make some last easy money
You have no fucking idea do you
He retired from fumbles in 2011.was going straight into boxing .

He shit himself.

Got sacked from the media in 2018 .

Yep. Everything is stacked in Hall's favour. He's 5" taller. He refused to fight unless they were pussy 2 minute rounds. And they're fighting in Melbourne.

I did see that Johnny Lewis said Hall is actually pretty good so this could go either way. But with the history of RL players beating AFL players in the vast majority of cross code sporting contests I'd say Gallen has gotta be the favourite.

how so? hasnt Gallen been a professional boxer since the end of his playing days1

since Hall retired he has has a cushy media gig for a few years then was sacked over a joke and now has been a normal plab with a job like the rest of us and a family

gallen has been the pro boxer for nearing 10 years and hall was an amatur boxer in his pre playing days now now wrestles his kids

if there was any one with an advantage its easily gallen

Do you ever do any resaearch before posting.
Lol no
Gallens first pro fight was in 2014 5 years ago .

Big bad Benny retired at the end of 2011 ..
With much fanfare about how he was going to be a pro boxer .
Shit himself when it actually came time to fight .
Lol
King hitting is not allowed in the ring .

So he cancelled his fights .
Lol
Now the excuses are flowing .
Oh he went for a career in the media .
Lol only after he bailed out of boxing .
What happened ..he was younger. Still fit ...
Maybe he lacked some balls .

Seems it was edited out of the DT

Former NBL player challenges Barry Hall to a fight
Christian Nicolussi, DailyTelegraph
January 26, 2012 12:00am
A FORMER NBL star is filthy with Barry Hall for backing out of a planned professional fight in May.

Part-time Gold Coast "RSL fighter" John Szigeti claims Hall's camp ditched the stink after learning he was better with his fists than first thought.
"His promoter wants an 80 per cent chance that Hall will win, rather than a 50-50 fight, and that's what it would be with me," Szigeti said. "Maybe that is a bit too risky for a prima-donna like Hall.
"I thought the whole idea was he wanted credibility and didn't want to come out and fight chumps and follow in the footsteps of Sonny Bill Williams?"
At 203cm tall and with eight wins from 10 bouts, Szigeti first made contact with the Hall camp last year. After advanced talks to get the former St Kilda, Sydney and Western Bulldogs sharpshooter in the ring, negotiations broke down.

"It is a bit of a shame that it is taking forever for the hardest man ever to play AFL to make his mind up to fight a 40-year-old retired basketballer and part-time boxer," Szigeti told colleague Nick Smart.
"I want to show the world that basketballers are just as tough as AFL players, if not tougher."

"I am still very hopeful it will go ahead ... I am even prepared to turn my back on him for the first 10 seconds of the first round if it makes him feel more comfortable."

Meaning he would have no support! Though he wont need any. He will look like Ali ,up against Halls bitch-slaps.

So I'm just wondering! In boxing the judges give a point to each boxer when they land a blow. If Hall throws a punch and misses does he still get a point??????

Considering Gallan has been pro boxer since he retired and hall has been sitting at home playing dad to a couple of kids. Gallen should win this easily

Can’t believe these two hacks are getting all this publicity and I suspect money!! I’d expect Hall to win ... although it is boxing and judging can be subjective ... a bit like diving or gymnastics ... all depends how a judge sees it.
