Well, there's certainly some differing views within the English game with the Wolfpacks promotion. The danger is that the clubs survival is almost solely dependent on majority owner David Argyle. If he loses interest or goes bust the club would almost certainly fold leaving the Super League in a precarious position.

The hope is that he has long pockets and stays for the long haul. A New York team is also being set up to play in the English leagues from 2021. The ambition would be to have a block of North American teams who could eventually be self sufficient.

Dunno how if they failed it would hurt the RFL, it has cost them nothing. They arent even getting any central funding, it's being split with the other SL sides, fuck they're a pack of useless fw's. Im just about over RL and it's absolute bs and I am def over the poms, let the game die there and grow elsewhere, they dont deserve the game.

What you say is true - super league burnt before by welsh Crusaders & it's shonky owners. Lots of risk, but also potential.

Yeah Wookie is one of those people that doesn't like getting hammered in a healthy debate.
You call the site fight club, but when the bully gets his arse absolutely kicked because he can't back up his lies. He bans people.

I asked him to show video evidence he couldn't.

I asked him to show pictures of these huge AFL crowds in Canada but he couldn't.

Sure Toronto are privately funded. But the very fact Rugby League is achieving more in Canada than AFL ever will is why Wookie is getting agro. He doesn't like losing unfortunately.

Why don't you actually man up wooks and argue your point with REAL evidence instead of locking the post down and banning the person your losing against??

If you ban me again your only proving my point that you know you can't win the argument.

People want to talk about our sports progress in Canada. Are you going to shut this thread too because you don't like it.

He'll be back. Always has a hissy fit and then comes back months later. Has done it multiple times on here.

Glad he's gone for a while, carries on like a bully and a dictator on here.

Anyways Toronto Wolfpack had a sellout for their Grand Final in Canada and are basically in the Super League for 2020. Not 3rd devision like Wookie has been saying.

I think Toronto Wolfpack are really letting the world know they are a serious Rugby League Club. They don't seem to be run by amateurs.

Are offering more for Sonny Bill Williams than any AFL or NRL club has ever paid for players.

They are also buying a top Rugby7s player too.

It sure seems they're serious about SBW. But $9M to play 2 years in Superleague is a massive amount of money. I'd like to know where the money is coming from. The club owner Argyle? Sponsors? A bit of both?

It seems kind of incredible but apparently Williams is gonna make a decision by the end of next week. Interesting times!!!

“It shows the innovation the Wolfpack is bringing to the sport as the world’s first transatlantic franchise, alongside our public listing and introduction of club-branded CBD [cannabidiol] products.
Going places, they'll end up being the Brisbane broncos version in the Super League unless New York can out do them which I don't think will happen.

That's incredible considering the Super League salary cap is only $4M for the season. They do however have a marquee player quota of 2 players that are outside the salary cap and basically can get paid any amount.

This will be huge for the Pommy game and comes on top of a host of NRL players going to Super League in 2020:
James Moloney Catalans
Gareth Widdop Warrington
George Burgess Wigan
Shaun Kenny-Dowall Hull KR
Manu Ma'u Hull City
James Gavet Huddersfield
Ricky Leutele Toronto

The Super League is gonna have a huge season next year. Well done to them!!!!!
