Compared to the presence of AFL/Australian Rules in NSW and QLD - where it is quite prevalent, the NRL/RL people really need to address this. Maybe its a slow burn - who knows but this is definetely one area they need to work on if they want to make the game of RL national.
Or maybe people are just not interested in league.
It’s had nearly a century to achieve some form of growth in its non traditional heartland areas and notngotten very far

Lol 2 year old article .
Read the NRL report for info .
Says the one that regularly posts articles 8 plus years old & sticks by them!

It’s been proven time and time again the nrlol annual report numbers are fudged far worse than their crowd number to beyond belief
This'll be good .
Seeing as you can t show proof for crowd fudging when asked repeatedly
Please show proof of this proven fudged report numbers .
No deflection please
Justpost the proof
You’ve never provided proof your self despite your years and years of crying about it! Now suddenly demanding proof from others!

Also Can show show us the article again that you base all your views that the afl is a corrupt organisation? It’s something to do with that Gary Ablett and that girl dying

It’s nearing what 10 or 11 years old now?
Hypocrite

It’s a tough one... even if you wanted to play 1. In a large part of the state such as Gippsland, you can’t as no local club or league and 2. If you live in Melbourne metro area or close enough you are travelling a fair way some weeks.

I think touch and oz tag have far greater presence than rugby league or union for that matter although union in private schools exists ... although these are the kids that can’t make the footy team usually ... with the inverse likely true in qld and nsw where private schools have afl as well.

In saying that there is growth as pointed out in the article so that is a positive but rl is very much a minor sport outside nsw and qld. There are more baseball leagues in Victoria the. Rl leagues for instance.

Lmao
Scraping the bottom of the barrel now
League has had like 5 players from Victoria play league in something like 90/ 100 years of leagues existence
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_l ... n_Victoria
There are what some 20 odd clubs based in Victoria
As recently discussed

Yet aparently there will be thousands and thousands people who love league and play touch

Then over the years you have told us that afl had next to no foot foot print in Qld or nsw where just on current players along multiple teams could be formed from each state with players from those states alone!

:x

League has next to zero presence down in vic, no matter how you want to spin it

Highlighted Points>>>

30 Clubs State Wide
250 Teams across these leagues in Victoria.
5 new Clubs enter the League this year..

Rugby league in Victoria is heading for a record season with more players and more teams than ever before in 2023.

The opening round of the new Storm Premiership for senior footballers was held at the weekend and more than 200 junior teams will kick off the Storm Junior League season on Saturday, April 29.

The 2023 Storm Junior League was officially launched at AAMI Park today when representatives of 16 clubs were joined by Storm winger Dean Ieremia who first started playing rugby league with the Sunbury Tigers.

NRL Victoria General Manager Brent Silva said the increase in both junior and senior numbers this year was great news for the on-going health and development of rugby league in Victoria.

“We know we have a great game to play and enjoy for under-sixes through to adults,” he said.

“It’s really pleasing and encouraging to see more and more people are getting out to their local club and signing on as a rugby league player.

“This year, we will have more than 250 teams in our metropolitan competitions, playing in the Storm Premiership and Storm Junior League.

“We are growing statewide with 30 clubs across Victoria, including a new club in the Geelong Sharks who have junior and senior teams in our metro competitions this year.

“We’re on track for record participation numbers, beating our previous best season in 2019 when we had more than 4400 registered rugby league players.

“This is all occurring thanks to the on-going work from our dedicated club volunteers and officials, the NRL, NRL Victoria and our home state NRL club, the Melbourne Storm, who have been great supporters of growing the local game.”

The first taste of rugby league for juniors comes in the Storm Junior League which covers under-six to under-18 age groups for both boys and girls. A non-contact “tag” version of the game is played by the under-sixes and sevens before they graduate to a modified tackle game played under a “Safe Play Code”.

This year’s Storm Premiership includes Sunbury Tigers stepping up to men’s first grade, two new teams in the men’s second grade competition and five new teams in men’s third grade.

Five clubs, including newcomers Casey Warriors and Sunshine Cowboys, will field teams in the women’s first grade competition.

It’s not too late to sign up for the 2023 season! Head to www.playrugbyleague.com/register to join now!
