Hilarious how you never want to discuss membership numbers. lol
Why .membership numbers have long been an afl thing .
Plus nowadays it's near laughable . One game memberships
Pet memberships ..etc .
Lol but you stick to that ..it's all you have .

AFL doesn't seem to have the player depth to expand. So many blowout scores and only one country to get players from.

The crowd at Cbus Super Stadium will be more black than blue but the Titans insist the arrival en-masse of Warriors fans on Saturday will help to create an atmosphere that the home side will thrive in.

The crowd of 18,753 that watched the Warriors win a thrilling encounter 24-16 in Round 11 last season was dominated by Kiwi ex-pats and was the third-biggest crowd of the season on the Gold Coast.

Sorry haven't contributed for a while, but important thread !
Victorian clubs have sucked the life out of Tassie football and contributed almost zero in return.
If Tasmania is not granted their own team then it is a national disgrace.
And mglock laim will be seen as the biggest prxxk in an Australian sporting administration ever.
I didn't want a crap name anymore !

It’s got to do with the financial aspect mainly, tassie doesn’t have much of an economy or population and both aren’t growing at any decent rate.

The afl need to boot Hawthorn our and leave the kangaroos there but with more local community engagement and more home games

The AFL always say >> we look forward 20-30 years

why not do that for Tasmania.

Have you seen the population and gdp of the state of the past, current and future projections? There isn’t much happening there!

Take in to account that the population is vastly spread out across the state

Tasmanian population will reach 522,327 by the end of June of 2019.

The Government tip in millions and millions to the kangaroos and hawks

imagen if they had there own team..
money and sponsors would not be an issue.

Crowds would not be a problem

(the reason AFL havent expanded there yet, is they take it for granted.
and don't see much more value in the broadcast dollars or grassroots

I think when it comes to expansion, the problem for Tasmania is 1. as pointed out - population is very spread out. 2. There is an extreme rivalry between Hobart and Launceston so people from one would not support the other. 3. I do think sponsorship would be an issue although it would give national exposure and 4. when it comes to priorities of expanding the game - Tassie falls behind non-heartland areas - where more growth can be gained - so yes, maybe taken for granted as they are an AFL state but even if they weren't - Sydney and QLD would still be the areas to focus on from a simple business strategy. The money needed to put into Tasmania would not have great dividends - whereas the money into GWS and Suns - the pay off is huge as they are sizable markets. To be honest I think you will get another team in Sydney before Tasmania - maybe the next two team will be tassie and a Sydney/NSW team. The AFL needed to go into Western Sydney - it would have been too costly not to.
