OZTAM are the one's who collect the figures, and I showed those figures above. The Sydney Morning Herald is a credible source and they say 1.6 million viewers for Souths & Roosters with rating up for all 3 games.
Numerous other media outlets have reported it too.
I would say they are using audiences peak which is often used in AFL too. The article is either completely wrong or they are using peak ratings, not averages, which is increadibly misleading
