If only he'd used the fireman defence .
If only he was in Victoria with sympathetic judges ...
If only there were coverups
If only there was hush money changing hands .
Nope
We don't do that in RL
Do the crime ..do the time .

Can't say the same for the southern hick game .

you never said 'over a crime'

It also doesnt change hands over a crime in the AFL unless you assume guilt without charges or a trial or a guilty verdict.

Where are these lenient judges? Like the one who gave a fine and 12 months good behaviour for that thug Bronx Goodwin who assaulted 2 people?

Carlton star Heath Scotland uses 'fireman' defence for second time in court defence
Shannon Deery, HeraldSun
October 10, 2012 9:16am
CARLTON star Heath Scotland has used his fireman defence before - to escape being convicted over assaulting a woman at a city nightclub.
Scotland, 32, yesterday narrowly escaped being convicted for his part in a wild pub brawl at a NSW ski club in January.

Lawyers for the Carlton best and fairest argued a conviction would prohibit Scotland’s post-AFL ambitions of joining the fire brigade.

A letter from an MFB official tendered to the court said any conviction would mean Scotland would not be accepted into the brigade for 10 years.

Scotland used the same defence in 2006 after he was charged with slapping a woman at a city nightclub.

He was charged with recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault after a dispute with a woman in the men's toilets at the Next Blue nightclub at Crown casino.

Magistrate Paul Smith ordered Scotland to pay $3000 to beyondblue and write an apology to the woman he assaulted.

AFL may fine Scotland

Mr Smith took into account Scotland's clean criminal record and the fact that he was provoked by the victim.

"You shouldn't have done what you did but I can conclude that there was some provocation,'' Mr Smith told him at the time.

Scotland's aspirations to join the fire brigade after his football career would be compromised if he had a criminal record, Mr Smith said.

"I am going to deal with you by way of diversion,'' he said.

"It allows you to keep a clean criminal record.''

He placed Scotland on a diversion program without conviction.

Lol
Why did he have a clean record .
Because the sympathetic judge didn't convict him first time .

So,of course the second time the judge can be sympathetic again .

nothing really to do with the AFL. He had a letter from the MFB and two different judges took it into account

thanks tinman

Secondly if that’s the best you can find! There has been dozens of nrlol players just the past year or so along of nrlol players, heading to jail, assault charges physical or sexually

Compared to your one 7 yr old article!
