But if you have a leagues club backing you ..you are in a far far far better position than a club who doesn't have the backing of a leagues club ..or a wealthy owner . I can't make it any simpler than that .

Yep been posted many times
The two sports are set up on different models .
Afl membership & get fans to games .
RL was become a member of the associated leagues club .
Spend $$ on drinks meals pokies ...& that money will help your football club .
Doesn't make one set up better than the other ( moral issues on gambling aside) ..it's just different .
Funny thing is afl clubs are getting more & more into pokies
While nrl clubs are pushing memberships more & more .
Both sports see the benefits of what the other has been doing .
