Cronulla Sharks are financially doing really well the past 12 months with so many business decisions
for the clubs future..

with minor upgrades to the stadium (which they own) in the heart of cronulla (interesting to know what its worth is)
Big upgrades to leagues clubs.
40million in bank from recent development.
big purchase of Golf club and surrounds. To be advised

Capital they got from only due to owning the land.

It won’t change the fact for the past decade they have been in massive debt, a shit run business and struggle for sponsors.

What are they doing to use next time to save their arse when they time they are blind to go in to debt

of course not, why concentrate on getting income from the rugby league team,
when you can get more money else where..

which will support the Rugby league team.

alot of NRL clubs do this, its smart i recan

It's bizarre .
If an Nrl team shows inititive by finding other revenue streams ..such as buying a golf club or owning land ..it's frowned upon.

Knowing a little bit about business whilst it is good to diversify it is also good to keep focus on your prime purpose and build that. In saying that, if your supposed purpose isn’t generating the income you need then it’s smart to look elsewhere ... this is often when you see rebranding so as to represent your actual product/target market. In saying that, selling assets for short term gain or to address bleeding fiancés to make the books look good is never a great thing ... building alternative assets or revenue streams however can be wise ... but need to be mindful of what business you are in ... as focus can slip away from purpose of business.

Gould’s legacy crumbling as Panthers slash $5.6m from footy club grant

The Panthers Group has slashed its annual grant to Penrith’s football club by a whopping $5.6m

An amount of $2.8m being given to propagate and develop junior rugby league in the Penrith district.

* Around $1.5m needed for the upkeep of Panthers Academy and Panthers Stadium.

* About $800,000 given to medically retired players Sam McKendry and Tim Browne.

* Approximately $3m spent on coaching and football staff.

* Despite the huge outlay, the Panthers Group still posted a $23m cash profit for this year.

The Panthers group, which has a total income of more than $150 million from its six licensed clubs, plans to undertake $1 billion worth of property development over the next few years, funded partly from poker machine revenue of $66 million per year.

The not-for-profit conglomerate intends to build a retirement village, serviced apartments and in an area currently used for large events and exhibitions, a $500 million residential development of 850 apartments.
