That is what is Wrong with GWS AND SUNS>>

there is no local talent in the club...

more so the same with the Melbourne Storm
I love the idea of the club talent being local. Players playing for the teams' they supported and all that.

Not that it works, but I can't see a way other than a draft in the afl now.

How do you keep it equal once the kids are ready though and there's a surplus of talent from Penrith's district and next to 0 from another club's?
Yeah its a great system and it works brilliant in the NRL

how it all works is the panthers have teams in the

u16's
u18'
U20's Holden Competition's
after that it is the NSW CUP.

Each club each year has to have a squad of 30 players per club in the NRL>>

a club like St George for example have the whole South Coast of NSW for talent.

they may have there top 22 players Local

and they will have scouted another 8 players from other lists
which have been let go or you have offered more money too.
already playing club footy or in reserves etc..

and that is what every clubs usually do..

some clubs buy more talent than breed them.. though it changes year to year.

Deflection alert. .
Address my post
Why do Syd stil need cola/retention allowance if getting players to stay is not an issue .
I don't know why I'm buying into this. There really is no retention issue there at Sydney whatsoever. Quite the opposite if anything. I don't have the Melb-Syd rivalry thing inside me. It's a big, bright place and players are happy to go live there. Seems more of a tick to the place anyway than 'fighting words'.

Let's see if you'll answer a genuine query...

Do the Storm have an issue issue in this regard? Retention/being a destination. Or any of the other interstate teams? Canberra seems particularly unappealing for mine.
Much like you with AFL, I DON'T know the answers so I'll ask instead.
Which are the least desirable Australian NRL clubs to be drafted to for these reasons?
Nice rant .but you avoided my question .
Lol
As most fumblers do.
Then deflect by asking a question .
I asked first ..so when you have the balls to answer mine I'll answer yours

The Storm dont have an issue with getting players to there club.

they have a Feeder club on the Sunshine Coast..
and they use to have a feeder club on the central coast of NSW.
and players were happy to go to Melbourne and focus on football
to get away from the media spot light.

never really heard of anyone saying they did not want to live anywhere..
the only one that comes to mind is the Canberra Raiders..
they are prob the only club that struggles to get big names players that commit long term..
but this would only be on a smaller scale of complaints.

If you mean about the COLA or whatever it is now. I don't know. I don't pay attention to it and haven't really heard it mentioned since all the original uproar. I'm sure you'll give me the figures though. My opinion was based on interviews with players, their happyness and a couple of players I knew who went there.

I'll dumb it down for you .
So the swans get extra still...to keep players ..simple to understand ..
This is because
A... they need to give them extra to stay.
Or
B they don't need incentive to saty & the AFl is rigging the comp to ensure their success.

Because the only other option is the laughable ..Syd is so expensive to live excuse .
It might be for ordinary wage earners ...
Those on 6 figure salaries like these fumbleballers ..lol
The average fumbler wage is 370k.
Lol...yes give us more...we struggle to live on that .

The Swans get a percentage extra for each junior level player to account for the higher cost of living in Sydney. This means they cant accumulate their additional salary cap to spend on a marquee player like Buddy. This is an attempt by the AFL to keep players in Sydney rather than trying to return to their original state

there has been in the past, as there is with the lions, suns and giants. The fact it's working with the swans is a good thing

Thanks for dumbing it down. Maybe you can dumb it down to the stage where your point becomes apparent. Is it that the AFL has failed to make it an attractive place to stay because people don't care about AFL or that the 'players are pansies who can't handle being away from home'? I don't see the "sledge" here.
In the modern day, why wouldn't players wan't to go there?
Anyone here from Syd have a view on this?

Oh dear .
I'll explain it once again for the other mentally challenged southerner .

Your mate says there's no prob retaining players in SYD .
I say why then do they have to give them extra $$$ to stay..Cola in another form
You come along & say
THIS IS AN ATTEMP BY THE AFL TO KEEP PLAYERS IN SYD RATHER THAN GO BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL STATE.

That is excatly what I was saying .
Yet apparently that's being paranoid & delusional .

You fumblers have no concept of what's in front of your face .
You fail to comprehend what's written ..

You then deflect with gibberish .
