The question is, given the disadvantage expansion clubs have... how do you balance that out? To do nothing compromises the competition in the opposite direction with clubs in traditional areas having the balance in their favour.
Hang on Freddy boyo.......you're the bloke who repeatedly tells us how good the fumbling game is going in Qld. Like over and over again and again ad nauseam you tell us. Kids everywhere playing. Every 2nd person wearing fumble colours. The game taking off like a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning 2 fighter Jet!!!!!

But now your backing 'em in to go begging like a drunk staggering around a bar stumbling into fumblehouse with their hand out saying........."please sir can I have more" lolololololol!!!!!!

I mean ............what is the real story Freddo boy????? You can't have it both ways pal. Either your little game is taking off or it is a broken, hopeless mess begging for more!!!!!!

Do tell Freddy!!!!!

The Suns are a long term investment by the AFL and they will give them assistance to succeed. IMO they won’t give them as long as GWS, but maybe up to 10 more years.

That they are being constantly raided by the Victorian Clubs hasn’t helped but they have made some errors they should not have.

They have some time yet to be prove themselves in the graveyard of all sporting teams called the Gold Coast.

If the AFL could wipe the embarrassment and make everyone forget,

would the SUNS be shafted to Tasmania next year..

I think of we are talking about turning back clocks - the AFL would have done around the whole suns setup differently. however, we have seen with the Lions - get them winning and things will be fine. Everything but this top level (Suns) is going well for Australian Rules on the Gold coast - juniors are growing and strong, women's game has been set up and growing also, senior level leagues in place etc. so that's not the issue - the issue is with the Suns. I will maintain that going through this tough period and having a reasonably solid base has its positives over a quick fix and having instant success - but it does need to turn around quickly as potential for it to become cancerous is clearly obvious. In saying that, the question is then asked from a broader perspective - does Australian Rules per se need the Suns? Sure the AFL may see it as important to their bottom dollar - but is it required for the growth of Australian Rules in the area, which is already quite strong? Of course, the same question could apply to the Titans?

Isn’t it funny how you loons just continue to ignore your own basket case on the GC the titans, the nrlol has already needed to come in and rescue them a few times, given the lower running costs of a nrlol team and so called league heart land it makes your ignorance and obsession of the afl even more amusing

I mean the titans were kicked from their venue and not be able to pay rent! Playing games with stand closed due to being able to pay to open them on a venue they got to design!
They were training in a school and and administration were forced to move to a GC council building
At times struggled to attract sponsors
Can caught our fudging crowds
At one point we’re going to be shut down by asic due to debts this is all in a decade or so

I mean if there ever was a pathetic joke of a club it’s the Gold Coast titans!

Oh but but suns....

Has it ??? Has it been fixed. The titans are in way more trouble than the suns. The suns have at least a good solid base of supporters and afl people on the coast to follow them. Being a rl area, most rl supporters have a team ... not the titans and do not support the titans or go to games.

Ahhhhh Freddy......comedy central as usual lolololol!!!!!! Mate do you read the Melbourne papers?? The Suns are a laughing stock. Every man and their dog is saying move 'em to Tassy where people actually care.

Which makes sense. But give us the "how strong is AFL on the Gold Coast" story again Freddo. It's a beauty!!! You'd be fantastic on a long road trip Freddy boy. PM me and we'll organise something.

The suns have never had any success and only been on the bottom end of the latter where the titans have had some moderate success and based in so called league territory

Because your imagination says so :thumbleft:

The nrlol just bailed them out polished the turd up and found some new buyers that wanted a tax dodge and something to brag about!

Give it a few years and same shit will happen again! Just like the past 10 or so years since the birth of the titans
