None of these events draw australias interest beyond a few soccer tragics.

News flash, as a population we're not that into soccer. Its bat shit boring. So so so defensive, almost pointless for 99% of the game. No wonder crowds behave badly
Yet billions of people disagree with you LOL, but keep yelling at Clouds

either way 2.1mill for the Aus v France game on Saturday night is very good..

especially with all the other competition at the same time..
with no other sport on prob looking around the 2.8mill to 3.1mill mark

those poor union fans
Ausv Ireland Bombed big time..
Cricket had worse figures than the Rugby didn't?

the ARU were warned not to put it on at that time, they didn't listen.

That was my point the AFL can't get any bigger than the AFL Grand Final, so the best they have got so far is a group stage match, pretty sad really isn't.
crickets were lower but that did go to 3am in the morning.

yeah ARU are just plain stupid and still have not learnt.

(be interesting to see the Denmark Game) I will be watching

yeh good time,

be great to know the true tv figures of these big events.
particular in NSW as was stated in other threads
have double the amount of pubs and clubs as Victoria

the only thing we do know is Pubs and clubs pay a premium fee for the Sports they show.
as networks knows big numbers are tuning in, though this is only for FOX SPORTS>

be interesting what networks and sponsors take into account..

So, more people watch football than AFL, but because they are not Australian's they don't count, but the fact that more Australians don't watch AFL than do, then that is ok.

Wow you really are desperate to be relevant aren't you.

I'd love to know as well, these big events attract them, they must be able to factor them in somehow.

Not at all. Soccer is a minor sport in Australia, AFL is the number one sport. The gap is huge

The SOO? doubt it, but it is taking away column inches and media time from both AFL and SOO

I bet the State Of Origin will lose a heap of viewers because its on Sunday night instead of the normal Wednesday.

Why would they move it from the Wednesday & put it on the weekend? Its the only decent thing you have going for you Rugby League & I think you might have stuffed it up with this move! Ouch!!!
