Where does athletic ability correlate with interchanges

An athlete is not someone who can only perform when they are fresh.

Excatly
It's the ability to keep going when fatigued .
Still perform at your highest level .
Not run to the interchange bench .

I think the operative word in the sentence was "only" my friend. Meaning they can perform not "only" when they are fresh. Which means they can also perform when they are not fresh. Comprende???????

my last AFL game I went to was when the AFL had 120 interchanges per game>
and I was sitting 2nd tear near the clubs interchanging section..
I was simply amazed how frequently players were coming off>>
literally 3 off 3 on 2 off 2 on
was a constant pattern every 5mins
than throw in the 3 extra breaks. (seems ridiculous)

The idea is to give your players regular brief breaks to ensure they can run at maximum intensity for longer because the zoning defence used today means they get no real break during the game

Claiming breaks show a player is not athletic is idiotic because it ignores intensity during game time

A good athlete goes on under duress
.plays on through the fatigue or pain barrier .
Not in AFL ..just put your hand up & get a break...as often as you like

If some one can only run for 10min before having to put his hand up for a spell, than its idiotic to compare them to a person who runs 10km. Making 40 tackles along the way and experiencing about 70 collisions with a grater G-forces than astronauts experience. with just a 10min break midway through.

good point>
Rugby league tests the body in multiple ways
fitness, stamina, strength, mental, physcially, skill.

so here is your first stupid assumption, who says these players have to have a break to enable them to continue?

Lol
Is that the dumbest question this year.?
If they can continue then why go off
Why not stay on .
As it's usually the best players onfield ..the lesser talents usually are on the reserve/interchange bench .
