Correct me if I'm wrong, as I havent paid any attention to the RLWC17 this year, but did the meaningless international rules Aus v Ire game 1 get a better crowd than every RLWC17 match so far this year?

Surely not!!

lol is that all you've got, a 2 code game crowd in AFL heartland vs 1 code.
They have not even had the rlwc final yet.

They got 24,041 alone with New Zealand vs Tonga in Waikato.

Not only that, all 3 PNG home games have sold out.

Please tell me what crowd figures AFL gets for their international cup?

So I gather from your answer that today's international rules between Australia and Ireland got a better crowd than all 3 Australian games in the RLWC so far.

Oh dear :(/ :(/

Mate your comparing two codes against one. How many people does AFLs Ireland team in Australia get when they play?

Oh that's right, AFLs international cup can't even get tv coverage, or crowds.

The international rules is neither Australian rules or Gaelic football, it's a hybrid. It's a made up game with little to no interest from either country.

Yet it has outdrawn EVERY RLWC game so far this year! :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

Wow! Wasn't expecting that. =D A hybrid AFL match got a bigger crowd than RL matches.
Are these figures verified?

Several years ago, the international rules series played in Ireland drew a crowd of over 40000.
This game was held at Croke park Dublin and generated huge interest.

25k is a pretty poor crowd considering AFL standards. Might've been the shit house 2017 AFL finals series which kept the fans away

RLWC17 organisers have totally butchered their chance to have a well attended quadrennial compitition. Apparently they had a bloke sticking flyers on street poles to advertise games. (I find that almost impossible to believe) And international media outlets are ropeable calling Sydney a RL grave as apposed to the cradle it once was. RIPRL. :salute:

Lol the fumblers pulling themselves over a crowd for one game
The only chance to see the fumblers try to claim some international credibility seeing as their games international profile is lol lol lol
We have had many games in the RLWC
Many chances for people to watch games ..pick & choose which to go to
Sell outs for some
Wait for the FINAL
I'm sure you mob will disappear after it .

League folks did it for Origin at the MCG. Was hilarious.

We'd love to around smashing smaller countries as well, but the AFL doesnt seem to want that for some reason.

PNG d Wales 50-6
Fiji d USA 58-12
Tonga d Scotland 50-4
Aus d France 52-6
NZ d Scotland 74-6
Italy d USA 46-0
Fiji d Wales 72-6
PNG d USA 64-0
Sell outs for some
None in the ACT or NSW...wait have any sold out in Australia? PNG sure - even if the crowds are 10k below every stated capacity for the ground - and some good crowds at Waikito in NZ....but
Oh dear .
Here we have a fumblefan taking a shot at RL sell out crowds ...below capacity .
Yet on here we hear the usual AFL sell out crap...same thing ...below capacity..yet that's fine because it's AFL .
Hypocrisy is breathtaking .
