So what is with this big bloke who has changed sex to a woman wanting to play womens AFL? Why does he not just try to play in the mens AFL? I think he would be a great fit in the Sydney Swans.
He would be a cult hero with the local Sydney AFL fans.

All I am saying is why does'nt this guy try out for the Swans instead if AFL won't let him play in the womans?
He would get a lot of support for his cause with that club.

The AFL happily changed their logo to a yes to support marriage equality and now they say Mouncey can't play because she's ... Different. How typically tokenistic of the AFL. An absolute Disgrace of an organisation

the vast majority of posters on BF agreed he/she should not be allowed to play in the AFLW comp. I agree with them. The comp is not established enough yet to have a 6'4" transgender giant player dominate.

This is a woeful news story to begin season two of the women's AFL. What could have been an opportunity has been passed up on assumptions. If they have let her play they would've attracted more viewers.

Essentially, just like you nlol, the AFL have:

1. assumed that Mouncey will dominate before sHes even laced up a boot in the aflw
2. Assumed that the women currently playing won't be able to handle Mouncey
3. Assumed that transgender women have an unfair advantage

And this is the hilarious bit, the AFL has effectively contradicted the fukk out of emselves

Apparently he/she is playing in the local ACT AFL womens league without any problems.

I am starting to think King kind of has a point. AFL should put their money where there mouth is. Especially when AFL is the football code which is such a big part of the gay community.

AFL says they are all for lgbt rights, yet they are kind of discriminating against their fanbase by not giving this transgendered a chance.
