Does anyone really believe GWS Giants hype in Western Sydney besides AFL fans themselves.
From being outrated by childrens televisions shows to giving childrens tickets for free and mass costly promotion.
The public interest has hardly been something to brag about for an AFL team that is always near the top of the table in recent years.
Matildas soccer match even showed them up with better crowds in Penrith. Which wás a fantastic game.

your little code had $15 dollar to free tickets handed out during its finals series and had similar crowds to GWS in their own heart land!
the AFL flogged the NRLOL in the ratings in every finals game!
all bar one game in the crowds! the AFL tickets were priced at a premium while the NRLOL was next to giving them away

Mathews actually makes some valid points .... lots of work to be done. And they were competing with an nrl final and Matilda's. Give. An nrl final had similar numbers I suggest the Giants didn't do too poorly

The NRLs Western Sydney clubs have not been going around to schools giving free tickets, nor do they have free tickets for all children.
They are also competing against 4 clubs of the same code and are not in two cities like GWS.
Not only that, they do not have the mass promotion budget in Sydney that AFL has spent on the Giants.
The NRL has been getting better regular crowds than the Giants in Perth for Souths games and they were not even in the top 8 with next to zero rugby league coverage in a smaller populated region.
Face it, the Giants are all hot air with all these so called members lol..
Womens soccer kicked your arse too. More went to the Matildas game than the GWS match. AFL really is still number 4 in NSW.

The ticket prices were $15 as well for that game before they were handed out for free
